I am super late for this review, and for that I apologize. Pipin Hot Smokers is the best around hands down. Sean and his team are truly amazing, easy to work with, super communitive, and bring delicious food that does not disappoint. I reached out to Sean back in January for a company party I was in the middle of planning. The date was pushed out a couple times due to Covid and they had no problem accommodating. This was our first staff event since Covid, and they truly made it special. Every meat we ordered was juicy and tender, the sides were YUM, and we loved that they had vegetarian options for the staff who do not eat meat. I didn't have a single complaint from my staff and heard nothing but raving reviews. We cant wait to invite them back and am so happy we went with this 5 star team. Sean and his team were so awesome to work with for a 160 person party. It's such a relief when you find a dependable caterer that is communicative and also produces excellent food. Nothing is better for an event planner than having a stress free experience with the most important part of any party, the food! I will definitely be using them again in the future. I heard only good things from the club members about the food! Sean, Thank you and your crew for being top notch. Loved the great smoky flavor of both the ribs and chicken.

I am updating my review from 2 to 1 due to responses I have received to my 2 star rating. I would update it to a 0, but that's not available.I reviewed them 9/06 (a month ago) as a 2 and included pictures of the food and their stand/tent that was outside serving food. There was an old first reply that was received right after the review and even though I never mentioned a refund, my purchase was refunded and I was asked to give them a second chance. There was another original public response 9/07 that was recently updated 10/2 to include the following added wording "Also, I wished you had asked permission to photograph my minor child before posting his face here. I find that a little troubling." This wording was added in there 10/2 and not sure of the intent of the update instead of creating a new one or why it was so delayed (a month later).There was never an official request to remove anything, but I removed a picture that was of their whole stand in public outside during the transaction in front of the Brewing company. So I guess nobody will know what the blue pop up tent looks like.

Hired these folks for a 100 person party, sight unseen (except Yelp!) after multiple phone conversations. Despite their assurances, I was nervous and unsure about what they were providing... They totally came through with prepared, hot foods! The foods were SPECTACULAR - tri tip, grilled chicken (that was perfectly, simultaneously charred and moist), corn cobs, salad, and potatoes. It was presented without bbq sauce on it, but when applied, it was deliciously vinegary & sweet. WOW!The portions are huge. The service was on time. They provided food tongs, spoons, and condiments galore. You provide table cloths and the eaters. HIGHLY recommend. Will use them again.

Last night I tried both the pulled pork and the brisket tacos. They were pretty good and priced right. The most impressive part about my experience with this seemingly family owned operation was that it was an unusually slow night for them at the brewery we were at, Track 7 in Natomas, so they basically gave us a couple of platters so we could try all of their BBQ selection.Although we ended up "tipping" them heavily, what they gave our group of 3 was too good to simply accept for free. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, BBQ ribs, and the mac and cheese. Overall, it was 1 of 2 places in Sacramento with great BBQ; and as a bay area native that has traveled extensively... I've experienced few few businesses with "great BBQ". The only thing that wasn't't excellent for me was the mac n cheese; but that is largely due to the type of mac n cheese that I prefer, very cheesy.Anyway, I highly recommend their BBQ.

Fantastic! Sean and team catered a large party of 200 for us. Communication was always easy with prompt responses before the date of event. They showed up on time, and food was delicious for a good price. Highly recommended!

Hired Sean and the team for our wedding and elected to go with the full service option where they brought the food day off and handled managing the line of guests and clean up. I think we said all of 10 words to them while they were there and woke up the next morning to left overs in the fridge which was a HUGE relief because we had 1000 other things to worry about the day of the wedding and Sean came in, did all the set up, serving, and cleaning up without us having to get involved. Service and communication before during and after the event was smooth and easy.Now for the food itself! I love smoking which is why we decided to have BBQ for our wedding and I'm happy to say that the food was amazing. We went with pulled pork, brisket, corn bread, mac and cheese, beans, and salad. The pulled pork and brisket were both delicious the day of and after the wedding and all the sides were great. The meat was juicy and tender and perfectly cooked which can be hard when you're smoking everything ahead of time and bringing it to a location but they nailed it. I'd highly recommend Sean and his crew for any event if you're looking for some high quality smoked bbq.

We used Pipin' Hot Smokers catering services this last weekend for an event of about 60 people. The food was delicious! The staff were all professional and helpful. Sean was super responsive at every step of the way and very easy to work with! All in all a very professional outfit with delicious food!!
