Pho 38 Noodle House

We stumbled upon this place last minute during our Thanksgiving weekend road trip when most places were closed. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, it felt more like visiting someone's home as a guest rather than dining at a restaurant. It's a small, cozy spot serving delicious pho. I never expected a small town like this to have such amazing pho! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend it. It's a charming family-run business in a quiet town, not a bustling metropolitan area, which made it all the more special.

The inside of the restaurant isn't anything crazy amazing. I'd say there's enough seating for people, but I don't like the music. The bathroom isn't the cleanest. The table had forks, spoons, chopsticks, napkins and seasoning. Service was pretty good. My server didn't rush us and listened when we were asking questions about the menu. The first thing that came was our drink. We ordered the avocado smoothie, I do not recommend this beverage. It tastes like perfume and was not good. It took about 15 minutes to receive our food (two bowls of pho). I asked for raw meet on the side (that's what I am given at other pho restaurants), but they gave me cooked meat on the side instead. It's not that important, but maybe have your review your order. The broth doesn't have much flavor, but I didn't expect great pho out in Oakdale compared to places in the Bay Area.

Such a nice surprise amidst a road trip! Solid Vietnamese staples, kind service and fresh fruit ingredients. Will definitely be coming back!

The pho was really great and so was the service. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. There was one server for all the tables and she did an amazing job! She was very perceptive and attentive. We had our little with us and she went out of her way on more than one occasion to help them pass the time while we ate. We also ordered boba which was delish!

Smaller establishment. We came on a Sunday after lunch hour and they were very accommodating in getting our large party seated across different tables and taking our orders. Our table of 5 ordered the same pho order, and it took over an hour and a half to come, while other tables were getting their food, and we weren't checked on -- to the point that after checking and being told several times our food was "ready to go", we were getting up ready to leave. Finally got the food, and it was hot, but not as flavorful as what we're used to, and the last bowl seemed like they just filled it with the shorter ends of the noodles.They charge $1 extra for credit card, so we tried to pay with cash. That took a lot more time, partly because they had to calculate everything manually.Probably an off day, but wouldn't come here with larger parties!

Fed a crowd during the last storm on 2/4/24. Great people! Friendly and personable. Food was delicious the crowd approved. Broth was wonderful and veggies were fresh. It made a cold day a little more tolerable being out in the rain.. We'll be back. We took it to go. Cute tables and the folks seemed to be enjoying their meals. Kelly

Authentic Vietnamese food around the area. We stop by a few times on our way home to Bay Area. Fast service Owners are super friendly and hardworking. The pho broth was well seasoned and a large bowl is a very good size. The hot sauce is amazing. Wish they sell it but I'm happy to come back every so often to have a taste.

The woman who works the front, has a very nasty attitude. I asked her for extra beef which I understood I had to pay for. She decided with an attitude like I ask for something free told me it would be 10 dollars. That's more than half the price of the dish. Customer service is a loss art!!!!!

A (good but) different spin on Vietnamese food. Living in The Bay Area I have certain expectations for Pho and other Vietnamese food. Traveling through town we stopped and of course checked Yelp to see what others thought. Good ratings and interesting menu items helped us choose this location. The customer service was above average and a warm smile made us feel quite welcomed. This location is worth visiting. Enjoy!!
