Peterson Park

Love love love this park! Recently remodeled. Great toys to play on, a shady bench place plus extra benches.. they just installed a bbq!! Basketball courts, baseball area lots of grass and always friendly people.. The bathrooms are clean and have toilet paper.. we are here every week!

My husband spotted this hidden gem on the map a few weeks ago. You see, last summer we had trouble finding a free tennis court in the evenings in Lodi and even when we did, many times there were issues with the lights. There are plenty of parks with courts in town but there are just as many people who enjoy a match. We got here around dusk last night and saw people playing basketball but to our delight, eventhough they had only two tennis courts, they were both available! We did have some issues with the lights after it became to dark to see, but that seems to be the standard. Not that it's important, but I won (5-4) and although there were people walking dogs and relaxing, the park was not super busy which we liked. It was a bit dark when we were done but we plan to come earlier next time and bring our pup with us to explore. We will definitely be putting this park into our regular rotation :)

Peterson Park is huge! There is a front park and a back park connected by a lovely walking trail that borders the grassy field, a tennis court, and a basketball court. The front park has swings and bathrooms whereas the back park does not, however the back park is geared much better for toddlers and smaller kids. It's very well shaded and situated in a beautiful neighborhood. Highly recommend!
