Just purchased MNP nine shield magazines from Darrell Henry at the Petaluma Gun And Reloading Supply... they were very helpful and answered questions that I had about my Smith & Wesson second time there very helpful if you want good service along with their expertise, please stop by.. the last place I went to in Petaluma. Were just interested in selling items to you and not being pleasant or answering questions

I HATE writing bad reviews. First of all, I am a first time gun buyer, so I have NO idea what to do other than what I read on search engines as far as paperwork needed. So, I'm already intimidated and feel out of my element. Maybe I had that deer in the headlights look, but that should've been a cue to be extra courteous. I KNOW I can't be the only first time buyer. (This is 2020, by the way just before the election by the way, as a frame of reference)I walked in and got weird looks and the tension could be felt. I play in a rock band so I have long hair. I was treated like a war protestor. I'm FAR from it. I was immediately told they were sold out of everything, but the sore sure looked like they had stuff. He said it was all sold and for display purposes only. Maybe it's true. I don't know. I don't know how gun stores work, but if it's sold, I wouldn't think other people can handle them.I asked what do I need to buy a handgun from them and he told me I need a birth certificate so I could go to the DMV and get a REAL ID. Jump through hoops was the impression I got. I'd give them 1 star but he did write on a business card that I need to study the DOJ safety guide. That part is true.So, I kind of gave up on the idea of purchase. It just seemed to difficult. Months later, I went to a competitor to look around. I told them I was going to get my birth certificate that night so I could get my REAL ID because that's what Petaluma Gun & Reloading told me. Within 3o-45 minutes or so, I had done all the paperwork, took the 30 question test and passed, and purchased a gun with a simple valid CA DL and my car registration. I'm going there from now on.

Bob and Terry are very curteous. They helped my girlfriend and I choose our antique gallery guns. They spent the time to show us the various rifles in the collection over and over on two separate days. We were able to determine which ones would fit our collection and be best for us to shoot.We will be back for sure!!!

I have known Daryl and Terry for 25 years. I by all my supplies there. They are personable and knowledgeable. They will take care of all your gun, ammo and supply needs. If you are looking for a gun shop to feel comfortable and talked to not down to like so many shops, try Petaluma gun and reloading. You will be glad you did.

Went in today because I have been researching a lot about getting a .22lr. After going to the three top rated gun shops on yelp in Petaluma and Cotati I came here looking for a Ruger 10/22. They were extremely nice and even though other customers were at the counter they made a point to ask us what we were looking for and they had a bunch of different configs of the 10/22 as well as some used rifles. Definitely would go back here for future purchases. Good prices and friendly, helpful staff. Now it is just a matter of 8 more days and actually finding .22 ammo so I can go to the range...I was at first turned off by the low rating on yelp, but I found the other stores that were rated higher to be not as helpful or friendly and two of the other stores in Petaluma had no Rugers at all and were more expensive in general.

Great humble down to earth people. Super helpful with helping you find the right ammo or whatever your needs. I love this place!

I've been going to this family owned shop for 20 years. Always treated professionally by the owners. Fair prices on the guns for sale and got my questions answered. Recommended especially for first time buyers.

Very cool shop. Inventory of used firearms is always changing...and some really cool old guns for sale! Good resource for reloading supplies and questions.Update: the inventory changes all the time, so I need to stop by here more often to see what cool old guns they got in....muzzle loaders to!
