Our Place Event Space and Kitchen

Went to the R&B Brunch on the first Sunday of the month and it was good vibes and a great DJ. The food was good for buffet style. They had waffles, eggs, potatoes, fried chicken, fried fish, bacon, sausage, grits and shrimp, and some kind of pastry. They also had crab cakes, oxtail, and avocado toast that you could order that was free but not in the actual buffet. You have to order it with your waiter they said because they want to bring it out fresh and not just have it sitting at the buffet table. The mimosa were good I recommend doing the mimosa where the bartenders pour it is a lot better than the $75 mimosa tower you can purchase. The bottomless mimosa are $35 and they give you a wristband. The buffet is $45. Overall, I would say it's worth it. The only reason why I didn't give them five stars is because the line for the bottomless mimosas took kinda long and also they only have two single restrooms and it takes a really long time to be able to use the bathroom. The oxtails are smoked and weren't good but all in all I would come back.

I happened to stumble upon "OUR PLACE" while walking in Old Sacramento. They're in the alley next to The BackDoor. It's a little courtyard with a gate. It's very nice for lunch. I am completely alone in the courtyard which is how I like it. They are phasing out their restaurant at the end of the month so get here and try their vegan dishes while you still can. They are an event space and they also do vegan catering. They have dinner series every month and I was told they had a vegan series a few months back. They still have food stock but not so much as they are phasing out their restaurant. I ordered the cauliflower stek with salad.If someone asked me a recommendation for a semi-fancy restaurant, I'd give them this place. they're open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week and that's it. They're open until 8 pm but not tonight since they have an event. Check them out next week--it'll be your only chance.

I have used this venue for homecoming dances for four years. They are very responsive and accommodating. I have had nothing but great experiences and the price is much better than similar venues, which is definitely a highlight when attempting to make an event affordable for all students.

Delicious food and great customer service, especially the mashed potatoes and brisket. Highly recommend!

I got some food to go and had the BEST meal!! The ribs were fall off the bone tender with a lovely flavor. The Mac n cheese was good, but the sweet potatoes were the best I've ever had!! I would highly recommend this place and hope they're able to make it. The courtyard is nice to walk through, but I didn't look around inside. Very friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Mother's Day brunch was beyond my expectations! I was pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere was great. My breakfast was delicious french toast with bananas, vegetarian quiche, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and grits with shrimp. There was no need for additional seasoning- the food was right on point. Live music, mimosas, photo booth and a bar. I hope we can make this an annual event.

I was very excited about attending the Mother's Day Brunch hosted by this venue, unfortunately our entire group left dissatisfied and in need of a meal. It's a beautiful venue, but there was so much confusion about where people would sit, our group had a full table, actually 2! Our other family members were seated inside, while we were outside. The food was lukewarm and not tasty.. half baked quiche. Additionally they offered no bussing of tables, we had to take our half eaten plates to a nearby trash can ourselves. I'm not sure if this is standard practice at this venue, but for Mother's Day, there could have been some young people brought in to assist and also to fill water glasses that were on the tables, obviously for decoration purposes, the tables were decorated very nicely, that's the one good thing about the event. Finally, if you are going to set up outside serving areas, please dust the area for cobwebs.. I really want to like this venue, I'll give another try in the future, maybe this was an off day..

Went to their 90's brunch on Sunday. Food was terrible, they didn't have everything on the menu. It was freezing inside & the music was so loud, we couldn't hear our waitress talking to us.They advertise that it's outside & it was set up outside, when it was a beautiful day outside.

Although this venue is nice to look at, the amenities and customer service were horrible. I came for a public event with a group of 5 women. This venue only has one bathroom with ONE toilet, and this event had hundreds of attendees. The bathroom line was 45 minutes to an hour each time. My group ended up squatting outside in a parking lot to pee the first time we attempted that line.Towards the end of the evening, my group of 5 ladies stood in line again and we all went into the bathroom together, using the toilet one right after another. The other women in line started banging on the door saying "get out, we have to pee". Once we were finished, I opened the door and the owner (male) was standing there, yelling and cursing at us to get the f*ck out". He swung the door wide open and continued to yell at us. I told him there are 5 of us and only one toilet, he said "I don't give a f*ck, y'all gotta go." When I tried to reason with him, he said "you know what, it's good. CALL SECURITY!" I was completely baffled by his behavior and the need to be this aggressive! We were simply using the bathroom and nobody was being rude or doing anything wrong! I have never in my life been treated this way.I'm highly disappointed in his behavior. We were embarrassed and left the event immediately, missing the musical entertainment performance of the night, which was the reason we came and paid money to see. When I first arrived at Our Place, I was excited to find a nice place for people my age to hang out and planned to come back again more often. Now, I just don't think I can see myself returning or recommending this place.

I picked up dinner here tonight - the staff is super friendly and helpful. I was told that soon they will be extending their hours to open for lunch as well. The space was a little difficult to find because it's in the alley. It is a lovely venue, with a shaded brick patio and spacious interior. Both times I was there was at the end of the day, so it was fairly empty...I'm not sure if many people realize it's a restaurant as well as an event location. I would suggest putting some signage near the front of the alley and a menu outside, and possibly pipe some quiet music to the patio, because some people (like myself) may be hesitant to enter if they're not sure it's open to the public. There is a "we're open" sign, but since you have to pass through the large courtyard first, it is a bit intimidating to explore. There is also a small room to the right of the courtyard that is now also open for service. There appears to be small bars in both the main space and small room. I was greeted quickly and helped right away, offered water while I waited - lovely service. The chef came out to deliver my boxes, and while a little taciturn, he seemed nice as well. I got one plate with ribs, Mac & cheese, and green beans with (I think) bacon, and a second with tritip, fries, and the same green beans. It was all delicious - I particularly loved the ribs, which fell apart as I was eating them, and the green beans. I do recommend trying it out. I am interested in coming back to check out the rest of the menu.
