I called and they had the exact parts I needed, not after market real Volvo Penta parts, both bellows, raw water seal, cap, rotor, and oil filter. Great service and better prices.

The owner, Chad, went above and beyond to give me great service! I didn't have a truck to bring my boat to him in Oakley so he picked it up and returned it to my slip in the Pittsburg Marina. That was 10 miles! In the Hwy 4's nasty traffic no less. He always communicated with me so I was up to date with what he was doing and when he was doing it. This is a family owned business that has been around for I think something like 30 years. I am so glad I found an excellent mechanic with great prices that is a pleasure to do business with.

Had an awesome experience!A very good friend of mine passed away and I now own his 20 ft skipjack. It is an awesome boat but like many things toward the end of my friends life the boat was a bit neglected. Trim tan lines were rotten an need to be replaced. I called everywhere but no one had the lines in stock. I called Chad an not only did he have it, he also trouble shot a nagging problem I had with my outdrive an sold me a $14 spring that I used to fix it in less than 15 minutes!Great service by kind people.I'll definitely be back again

Chad is a total scam artist ..a friend of mine took his boat in to have his engine replaced...he called before he took the boat in and Chad gave him a quote for $1200 and when he picked the boat up the price jumped to $3000 for the labor and $600 for the parts. Not to mention the engine was installed improperly which caused the boat to flood. Don't trust this guy with your boat he a total sham.

So I called Chad earlier this week to do a seawater impeller service on my Mercruiser alpha one gen one. He told me that appointments weren't available till late June. He had done it last May but it had already failed as boat wasn't cycling water and was overheating. So instead I asked if he had the parts so I could do it myself. He confirmed that he did. So I drove to his shop and it took over an hour to get anyone to acknowledge me. Finally he looked up my order from last year to give me the correct parts but he didn't write down part numbers, so we had to guess based on my knowledge, $59 for gaskets and impeller. And wait need case oil to recharge, after another $45. ( He would have let me leave without it.)So glad I had to do the work my self. Last year he told me that he had to charge me an extra $200 to cut of my impeller cause it was ceased to shaft. Well upon my own discovery I was going to have to do the same thing. The ding dong that worked on it last year did not do a good job cleaning off excess material from shaft and forced it on. So here I am cutting off my impeller. Then using a sharp file cleaning up shaft. The pump housing was old and destroyed from the impeller melting down.Uh oh, the kit Chad sold did not include a pump housing. Well I'm not driving back to his shop again when I can do a little research and buy it from someone else. Called West marine and with a little coaching we were able to locate just the part I needed and a whole rebuild kit that had everything.$45 for just the housing or $65 for the whole kit. I bought the kit.So after a couple of part run trips and some patience I R and R'd my sterndrive and was back up and running.Chad your shop is a pig sty. Your stuck in the 60's as far as how you run a business and your work is minimal at best. Thank you for being to busy, so that I could see how easy it is to do this common maintenance for a boat.So my conclusion is that after $600.00 bucks spent last year they did not supply professional service. They re-used the old parts that are included in the kit.

We've had our boat ~10 years and have never brought it in for service. A friend recommended this place and we were not disappointed. They were able to squeeze us in, and turned the work around really quickly. They were very thorough, and gave us regular updates before proceeding with items that would occur additional cost. Super friendly to deal with over the phone an in person. Very reasonable price as well given how overdue we were for service!

The work I needed was too much for me so I took it to Chad. I got a quote that was very reasonable. I was kept informed about progress and completion. The work was very professional and has worked like new since. I would not hesitate to take my boat back if something else needed fixing. I can't think of any reason to speak poorly of Oakley Sterndrive.

I've known Chad for many years, had him work on my boats and been satisfied with his work. That said, this is a review I should have posted long ago. Three years ago I contacted Chad and asked him if there was anything he could do to get more performance out of my 18 1/2ft Searay bowrider. The 175hp OMC v6 just wasn't getting th job done anymore. His suggestion was to replace eng & outdrive with a Volvo Penta v8 & outdrive. He guaranteed me much more performance. Maybe at some level I should have known, but it never occurred to me that he was replacing an aluminum V6 and a small out drive package with a monster cast iron V8 and a larger outdrive package. The difference in weight changed the boat drastically and not for the better! The boat was never designed for that kind weight in the back, and no matter how I adjusted the trim, the bow went skyward at take off, was almost impossible to get on plane, and wouldn't pull a single skier up at all. It cavitated and porpoised going around turns, having never done that before. He said he test drove it, so he had to know! In my opinion, he ruined my boat, and what bothers me the most is that with years of experience, he should have known better. He didn't have any problem taking my $8,000 though! I took the boat out once just after he did the work, was embarrassed with my family and friends, and was so disgusted, I haven't had it out since! I bought this boat new in 1986, and I love it. I'm sure it's not worth what I've already spent, but recently, I got interested again and am now looking for a more reasonable eng/outdrive package to replace the Volvo with. Obviously, I'll give someone else a chance to rip me off!
