If you want freshly picked cherries from the tree and would love to experience the cherry picking, the Nunn Better Farms in Brentwood, California offers that experience. You can go to the farm during the cherry season, no need for a reservation, and pick as much cherries as you want, fill up your plastic bucket, take pictures, and when you are done, weigh it at the counter, and pay for it. The price is per pound. You can also eat the cherries while picking it to try or look for the tree that have the sweetest fruit, or avoid the tree that have a sour cherry. Last weekend for the season! Plenty of parking space, organized welcome area ( yellow buckets for usage ), staff friendly and helpful. The trees low enough to pick but may be helpful if ladders were available for those hard to reach plump juicy cherries. They do take credit card & provide bag to carry-out your cherries.

We visited Nunn Better Farms a couple of weekends ago with a couple friends of ours as well as the toddlers.Parking: Ample parking spots, don't worry about it.Accessibility: Easy to spot and access from Seller's Avenue, just keep and eye out for the banners.Crowd: It was crowded but the farm is huge and we still had a good amount of space and cherries to pick from! All in all, it was a great experience. The toddlers loved it too and had a nice outing. We ended up picking over 3 pounds, our target was 2.The cherries tasted amazing, they were the right amount of sweet and taut for us. Highly recommended visit and even noon time is fine because the trees will give you a good amount of shade. It does get dusty and our cars were covered with dust. Do apply sunscreen while you're in the car to make your lives easier. They did have other fruits too like Peaches and Apricots but we have those at home so our sole focus was on the cherries. You can carry a bowl of water to wash and feed your little ones. We saw people bringing their fur babies and everyone was having fun.The staff was helpful too, they were giving directions and were kind enough to take our picture as well.Do visit them, we plan to go a second time in the next couple of weeks.

They have cherry picking season down to a science.Lots of parking. So many trees. The parking lot was full but once you were picking cherries there was plenty of space for everyone. Everything pruned to a low level so our 6 year old had a blast. Definitely worth the drive from SF.

Date of Visit: 6/1/2024We visited the Nunn Better Farm again this year for cherry picking! The Rainier Cherries were already ripe and ready to pick! Both Rainier and Corals were good and still many fruits left on the trees. We picked about 3.6 lbs in total which is priced at $4 per pound.

My family and I had an amazing time at Nunn Better Farms in Brentwood! The red cherries we picked were incredibly sweet, ripe, and absolutely delicious. The staff working there were not only friendly but also very helpful - they even told us where the best places to look for cherries were! The prices were fair, and there were plenty of cherries for everyone, including lots that were easily accessible for the kids. I highly recommend Nunn Better Farms for a fun and fruitful cherry-picking experience. Five stars from us!

NBF is much like any of the plethora of U-Pick farms in this area. It does seem to be among the biggest and they had Rainer Cherry's so we stopped by hunting for those elusive beauties. Its not rocket science here. You get a bucket(s) and pick. Then you take it to the main station, get it weighted and you pay. You get to check quality control as you pick. The trees have cherries on all levels and ladders can be used but we did not need on at just over 6 feet all but the very top was out of my reach and my shorter wife handled the lower ends of the tree.

Had a great time with the u-pick cherries that I came twice! Once earlier in the season and once later in the season. Highly recommend you go as early as possible because the cherries get picked FAST and they close for the season almost a month later if the weather gets hot. They have a good variety of cherries but they aren't clearly labeled so yoh have to guesstimate what kind of cherry you're getting! They provide pails and buckets but be warned! Each bucket holds around 16-20lbs which would be aloooot of cherries especially since they are a flat rate of $4/lb! Overall I really enjoyed it as a fun activity with friends and the cherries were super yummy as well!

No entry fee, dog friendly, buckets plentiful and cherries plentiful. The whole process was pretty easy and there's a lot of cherries! They had an ice cream and lemonade stand at the front. They take credit cards. Porta potties only. Bring a wagon if you have young ones. For those with doodles or poodle mixes just note even though it's dog friendly which is awesome there are fox tails so you would be better off if you could put your dogs in booties. We ended up just checking her paws. All in all super fun family experience that I would totally recommend! Go early so it's not hot! We brought a little step stool for our 5 year old. A little step ladder would have been better but there's also lower trees as well.

Great place for cherry picking! Large variety of super ripe cherries and so many full trees we never worried that they would run out despite how many people there were. They have a huge parking lot. Friendly workers recommended we go further back since there were more cherries there. Lots of low hanging cherries. It gets really crowded in the early afternoon so be aware. We brought our picnic blanket and had lunch as well. Can eat as many cherries as you want while inside and you'll have to pay for the remaining cherries you picked at $4/lb. Overall very great experience and we'll definitely be back!
