North Canyon Inn Bed & Breakfast

Just an overall great experience. The hosts are wonderful folks, the place is lovely, and the food is amazing.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at North Canyon Inn. We stayed for four nights in the Big Maple room. The innkeepers, Fran and Mike, are meticulous hosts who take great pride in creating a welcoming environment for their guests. The bed was extremely comfortable as well as supportive, allowing us to sleep deeply and awake refreshed and ready to explore the area. Getting ready was easy in the huge bathroom with gorgeous tile and granite. Every morning we looked forward to one of Fran's savory breakfasts which were delicious and well as nutritious, and when I notified her ahead of time about my gluten allergy, she graciously modified my meals! Mike keeps the inn in impeccable order inside and out with everything appearing to be brand new. In the late afternoon we enjoyed sitting on their lovely, enclosed patio for a wine happy hour which offers guests a relaxing way to wind down the day, talking with the hosts and other guests about places to explore in Apple Hill and the surrounding area. Highly recommend!!

North Canyon Inn is a honeymooner's paradise! We got married at a venue just a few minutes away and not only was the location convenient, but the Inn itself was so dreamy, intimate, and special. The rooms are clean and gorgeous with newly remodeled showers! The best part for my husband and I was waking up to the most delicious breakfast - an Apple Hill crumble and savory quiche - that hangover cure worked like a charm. Thank you again to Mike and Fran!

This was my husband and I's first stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We normally go the AirBnB route but decided to do something different after finding North Canyon Inn on the Apple Hill website.Upon arrival Fran and Mike welcomed us with warm hospitality and quick tour of the property. We arrived at 4 PM which gave us plenty of time to get settled in before their happy hour at 5 PM on their beautiful screened porch. The happy hour was such a nice touch to our stay being able to mingle with the other guests and enjoy some local wines.We stayed in the Big Leaf Maple room which was very spacious and had more than enough room for my husband and I. The fire place and jetted jacuzzi tub was a nice touch to complete a relaxing weekend away from home. My only regret is that we didn't stay two nights instead of one, but now that is an excuse for us to go back.If you decide to stay at North Canyon Inn you will not be disappointed!

This was a special place to stay in the Apple Hill area. My daughter was getting married up the road at an outdoor event venue. The hosts Fran and her husband Mike were so nice and attentive. The breakfasts were scrumptious and filling. They ven accommodated our request to have breakfast an hour early on wedding day which made it so that my wife and I could have a great start. The Inn has an eye catching flow to it and is very clean. It is in a beautiful setting and the hosts stay on sight in a studio behind the garage. Mike would discretely check to make sure that the common areas stayed at a comfortable temperature and that everything remained in top shape. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were spacious. If you want to feel pampered in the hills this is the place to stay.

Mike and Fran were so wonderful. The rooms and property were very clean, the homemade cookies were some of the best I've ever had, and breakfast they made and served was delicious. We felt so safe and very welcomed as their guests. You can tell they both put their hearts and souls into their work, and we will definitely be back again. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about our stay. Such a delightful gem of a place and hosts. Thank you!

We hit the jackpot when we found North Canyon Inn with friends on our first trip to Placerville/Camino! Together, Mike and Fran created their dream-come-true inn...and anyone who stays with them is treated like royalty. The setting is magical surpassed only by how each room is so tastefully decorated with super comfortable beds.Fran and Mike are quite the team...Fran loves cooking and it shows in her creative frittatas, scones, apple sauce and more. Mike serves the delicious breakfasts along with great ideas on what to do in the area. He is very attentive (and funny) and drew us maps so we wouldn't get lost.Happy Hour was a special time...the sun was setting and we were being served amazing local wines and lively conversation.There was so much attention to detail...the living room is a great place to begin and end each day, there were cozy fireplaces to keep you warm and wonderful outdoor areas to enjoy when the weather cooperated.We do plan to make this an annual event and we shall reserve the BigLeaf Maple room again! My wife and I had a great trip! Mike and Fran are awesome hosts. Rooms are beautiful, and immaculate. Breakfast was great, even had freshly baked cookies waiting. We had a great happyhour (or three) with hosts and the guests. Met some wonderful people as we drank good wine in the backyard around a campfire. (I believe the 1st of the year.)It was nice to see Apple Hill....but the highlight was this stay and the hosts hospitality. Don't hesitate to book.
