Just ate dinner here. We both had a cup of clam chowder before our dinner. OMG the soup was wonderful! Tons of clams! So flavorful! I just had some clam chowder a few weeks ago in SF. The clam chowder at Nona's was way better! I can't wait to go back and have some more. The menu said they serve it on Friday/Saturday. Go try some! You won't be disappointed. We also had Nonas trio and chicken scallopini. Both were delicious. Service was awesome. The servers constantly check on you to make sure you don't need anything. Constantly Refilled water and bread.

I truly hope the owner reads this! In any town you should always compare yourself to the competition. Less than 2 mi down the street is arguably one of the best Italian restaurants in this region. They have it all ambiance, service and too notch food. This place I will rate them below:-Ambiance 1 I will give you the 1 because it was very clean, but nothing that screams Italian. Too bright and playing modern hits? Hmm...-Service 1 she took my order and that was pretty much it and even forgot my salad. Absolutely no personality. -Food 2 for the following reasons ...bread ice cold, calamari frozen and didn't taste that fresh. High point was the actual pasta and that would lean more to a 3.5 star. You can have ok service and amazing food and be ok but you can't have lousy lack luster service with lack luster food that isn't a winning combination. I should've know that walking in on a Saturday night at 6:45 that this place was dead as a sign to leave. The only reason I tried to come here is because your competitor down the street was over an hour wait for 1 person. Plus how do you have an Italian restaurant with no wine or beer? You have a lot of work to do here and for once in all my Yelping and trusting the reviews and star ratings this was a true disappointment!

The food for the most part is pretty good. They give very generous portions. My husband had chicken piccata, but you just don't use chicken tenders for your piccata. Also, the staff needs to get organized. The day we went was a Tuesday for lunch at 1:00 pm. They still had a lot of tables and people still coming in. One was a large group of about eight ladies. They only had one waitress. Finally, a man from the kitchen came out to try and help. He brought bread, but to the wrong table. He must have realized it and then we finally got bread. Also, I wanted a salad instead of fries. That didn't happen, but I didn't want to wait any longer. I hope they get it together and make it.

I kept driving past this restaurant so I decided to try it out. The place is casual, modestly decorated. The hostess told us that they've been open for about 3 months. We ordered the calamari appetizer. Comes with tartar and cocktail sauce. Our orders came within a reasonable time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the lasagna which my daughter liked. My wife had the chicken florentine which unfortunately tasted bland. I enjoyed the chicken picatta; I wish the chicken had been grilled instead of pan seared but it tasted good. It also came with really good fried whole potatoes. Overall the food was good but couldn't ignore heavy cooking fumes coming from the kitchen. Perhaps their smoke hood wasn't working ? I would give this restaurant 3.5 starts and perhaps another look in the near future.

We tried Nona's for the first time this evening and the food was good. The restaurant is still new and it seems that they are still getting settled. The vibe was a little sterile but I'm sure it will warm up as time goes on. As of now, they don't have a beer and wine license yet. The service was great, very attentive and the food was good. My husband had the lasagna, which good and very filling. I had the carbonara which was very rich and definitely on the salty side, I could only finish about half of it. There are quite a few other menu items that we'd like to try so we'll definitely be back!Would I recommend Nona's to friends and family... Yes!!

We tried this place for the 1st time. It did not disappoint! The service was efficient and they were very nice. Now to the food. We started with minestrone soup and salad. The soup was some of the most unique minestrone I have ever had it was so flavorful and hearty I could have just filled up on it. We tried the pasta carbanara and the fresh fish over risotto. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the flavors were all on point. The fish was also cooked perfectly the sauce that covered the fish and risotto was amazing. All the flavors complimented eachother so well I could not stop eating even though I was so full. The servings are huge leaving you plenty to take home. If you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend don't pass on it you won't regret it.

Food here is amazing but staff is horrible, not friendly at all. This is second time I have been here, first time I thought because it's new and staff might have been nervous/new but both times I've been they don't acknowledge you've walked in door even when I've made eye contact with staff. (Was only one other table) the staff sit behind front computer and acted like you are interrupting a break time. Would be amazing if all staff were fired and hire new up beat friendly people. I really hope the owner see this, customers love your food but staff needs a revamp.

We saw Nona's mentioned on a FB post & decided to try it out last Friday. Overall, our service was great & we were in and out in less than an hour. Not to mention, it was packed & we still got in, seated & served timely. I'm not sure if they always do this or if it was just a daily special, but we had the option of a free soup or salad. We both got the clam chowder soup. It was so flavorful and comforting. Although, the only downfall- it was a little too salty for my liking. I was only able to finish half of it. My boyfriend finished his, so this might have just been a personal preference of mine. I ordered the calamari steak as pictured. It came with fingerling potatoes but I substituted them for pesto pasta - not pictured. The calamari steak was thin & tender + cooked to perfection. The butter sauce complimented the steak & prawns perfectly. The pesto was creamy & you can't beat the amount of food you get for the price. Our waitress mentioned they've only been open for about a month. Usually we wait a few months to try a new restaurant out, but we decided to give Nona's a try early & I am glad we did.Only thing missing was a glass of wine

Nona's is one of Lodi's hidden gems. It's a new restaurant in the former location of Woodbridge Pizzeria on Kettleman Lane (on the east end of the same complex as Yen Ching and Impact Sports). Like any new restaurant it is working to get its legs underneath it, but it is doing a lot of things right, including:* Incredible food! Nona's offers Italian and American food (pastas, steaks, chicken, salads) that are consistently done well and come in extremely generous portions. The sides are huge (see photos!). A steak dinner comes with two sides and it's a challenge to finish it! The chicken parmesan is massive, too.* Great prices. The aforementioned steak dinner, for example: a 16 oz. steak that comes with two huge sides and complimentary bread rolls is only $35! Other meals are in the high teens or low twenties.* Little or no wait. One of my favorite things about Nona's is that while it's usually steady, it's rarely packed. I love that I can get food that rivals (or in some cases beats) Pietro's for less money and usually without a wait or need for reservations. There is so much to recommend, but some things are not to be missed, including: the BEST minestrone soup in Lodi, the NY steak sandwich (or any steak they offer), the fingerling potatoes, the fries, and their incredible Italian sodas. After several visits I've become a big fan of the place, both for dining in and take-out. That said, they are a few kinks they are still working out: it can sometimes take a while for the food to cook, and smoke from the kitchen grill occasionally spills out into the dining room. They do not offer pizza or chicken strips, which limits kid-friendly choices generally to pasta or burgers. One or two of the wait staff seem new to food service, but they warm up when you talk with them. The owners, however, are very welcoming and go out of their way to make the guest experience a good one. It is fun to discover new places, and Nona's is among Lodi's best new dining experiences.
