My absolute favorite boat to fish on. I knew the Captain when he was a deckhand. Tradition on Huck Fin is the deckhands are all top drawer professional fisherman. Dave retired 2 years ago as the best deckhand , in my opinion, in the entire fleet. Jack is a continuation of the tradition. Jack is my favorite deckhand on any boat in SF Bay. Captain Jay is an awesome fisherman, almost as good as his mentor, Art Robbie. Book a trip, learn about fishing and enjoy your bounty when you get home.

OMG!! Best fishing trip experience ever!!!! We went fishing yesterday and this was by far the beat experience I ever had!! Captain Ron a friend of a friend set the trip up and they invited me. It started off a little shaky because we werent shore where to park or which boat it was, and i think we were late, sorry to every one that was waiting on us. Once we got on the boat the deck hand Dave went over with us all the instructions and what to do and not to do incase you get sea sick. One person didnt hear the instructions and threw up all over the bathroom smh. The deck hand supplied us with with a burlap sack for our fish and rented us a fishing pole for 10 bucks. When we had fish on our lines Dave the deck hand would come out and assist us if we needed help taking the fish off, he would help us out untangle the fish lines if they got tangled up. I will say he was the best Deck Hand I've ever seen. The whole experience was fun!! We caught the max 10 fish and we went crabbing and also maxed out 10 Dungeness Crabs each. I WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN!! I recommend you to go fishing on the Huck Finn! The captain knew where to find the fig fish and where to get traps filled with crab! I almost forgot, they will clean your fish or fillet it the way you want but you do have to pay, tips are always welcomed, they do a great job. I WILL HE BACK!!

booked a half day on The Pearl then they canceled that talk me into booking a full day on the hook fin. I'm a disabled veteran so after thinking I realized I couldn't be on there a full day. wouldn't let me cancel charge me $175. no refunds no matter what. it didn't put them out none as the boat only had four or five fishermen anyway. greedy bastards

Great trip on the bay for Striper and Halibut. Cool in the morning and then it got hot on 4/18/19Striper limits early. 30 for us 15 on board. The Striper were boiling after bait fish. Others charters and private boats were on them too. Our Captain was on em'. The birds were too.The Halibut were sparse. Only 6 were caught on our boat and the largest was 7#+. I got one.No live bait yet.The Skipper of this boat and the deckhand make these trips possible for their patrons (other skippers & crews of the Emeryville fleet do that do the same deserve the same recognition), from (preping the boat and maintenance) untying from the dock in the morning and then getting the patron fisherman back safe. The 14 other people that I was on the boat with did a great job at keeping any trash from going adrift on the boat and overboard into the ocean.Attached is a picture of trash that was collected in a trash can during the single tripl of the day. The K-9 dogs that are part of the crew are a pleasure to have on board during a trip out to sea.

I took my boyfriend as a birthday gift. He loved it. Very helpful deckhands, never once did they get frustrated. Everyone on the boat ended up with a rockfish limit. Very few people caught lingcods, but I noticed others caught extra lingcods so a lot of people eventually ended up taking a ling cod home. Not enough indoor seating for everyone so get there early to secure a spot inside because the early morning boat ride was horrifyingly cold. The boat ride to the first spot was about 3 hours long. Most people bring large coolers. They have a microwave on the boat. Bring your own toilet paper. Bring extra layers, it gets colddd, do not underestimate how cold it gets. Bring cash so that you get your fish filleted on the boat and to tip the awesome crew.

Wow! What a great experience! I was the only female so I felt a bit uncomfortable for about 2 minutes. What a great trip. I caught 10 fish and Dave cleaned them perfectly for me! It was my first time fishing, so the help he gave me was so appreciative. Highly recommend this boat! Went home with more fish than I could eat, plus some amazing halibut!!!

Took my girlfriend for her first potluck trip. We had easy limits of good quality rockfish and 1 shy of limits of halibut. Jay and the deckhand were friendly and knew what they were doing. Definitely will be back!

Just finished a potluck, day long trip on the New Huck Finn. What a great day! Captain Jay and Jack the deck hand went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure it was a great time for us. We caught boat limits of rock cod and striper, and ended the day with an almost limit of halibut. And they stayed out even past the allotted time to make sure we had a great experience and caught a ton of fish. Captain Jay was clearly a veteran and handled that big boat perfectly, even when we were in rough waters, and Jack the deck hand is one of the hardest working people I've ever seen! He was busting his hump from start to finish netting fish, changing tackle, cleaning fish during the transitions, and keeping us all happy. I'd highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves to fish. We got to focus on fishing and they handled literally everything else. Thanks Jay and Jack for a day I'll remember for a long time.
