My fiancé called to make the reservation after work on a Friday. The man who answered the phone asked, "Will that be for today?" My fiancé replied, "No. It will be for tomorrow. I wouldn't be able to make it until very late tonight, so I might as well just go in the morning." We show up at noon the next day and the man at the gate tells us that our reservation was for yesterday and if we want to stay the night, we'll have to pay again. We try to reason with him, "Why would we make a reservation at 5pm for that same day?" He replies, "Well you didn't show up. You probably won't get a refund." We left, because at that point there was no way we were going to give them more money. I do not suggest this place. They messed up our reservation, they were rude to us at the gate, and they refused to refund our money.

We have been going to Turtle Beach since the mid 1980's and have always had a great time! The staff has changed over the years but have they have always found the most wonderful people. They do not have the activities that they used to, but we all still have so much fun. The swimming is wonderful and the other campers have always been friendly. I have to say it is our favorite place to camp. We have spent several weeks over the summer camping and my six year old never gets bored or tired of it. Now that school is starting, we can only camp on weekends, but it is nice to have a place so close that still feels like you are really getting away! I really can not recommend it enough! The only downside is that there is no general store anymore but it is close enough to town for shopping or for eating out.

This place is beautiful I love how you can make reservations whenever and even the day of! also they allow you to go there during the day for $10 a person which is awesome. Cool place to hang out!
