So first off, I've had yelp for like 10+ years now, and I think this is my 4th review. It takes a lot for me to wanna go online and start spewing my opinion. If I'm on here, that means something either went horribly wrong or something was phenomenal. This is one of those rare places that makes you feel like you are eating a home cooked meal, in the best way possible. I felt like they had my mother-in-law stowed away in their kitchen. The flavors were spectacular and everything was cooked perfectly. It's such a breath of fresh air finding a place that actually makes rice at the correct consistency. I ordered the fish pakora, veggie pakora, malai kofta, chicken saag, fried rice, onion naan, garlic naan and Kheer. Both pakoras were exactly what I wanted them to be. Perfectly crispy, seasoned just right, and the mint chutney they came with was so fresh. The chicken saag was juicy, flavorful and had the perfect consistency. I feel like many places manage to make a paste out of it, but this was just right. The onion naan was slightly underwhelming when combined with all the strong flavors in my order but the garlic naan had that savory roasted garlic zing to it. Lastly, the malai kofta... oh that malai kofta.. when I die, I want to be buried in this malai kofta. I want to drain the reservoirs and fill them with their malai kofta. I am genuinely worried about the health of my finances. I might need to move just a little bit farther away from this place otherwise all my rent money might get blown on buckets of this savory dish. Okay, that's my review. You gotta come try this place. The place is clean and inviting. The people are friendly and polite, and the food.. well, you get the idea.

So this place is new in Salida, moved from Ripon. It doesn't have any Indian reviewer, so I definitely need to write one!Overall a very nice Indian place with good food with few exceptions. I don't want to write a very long review but here is my take. The samosas are OK, the filling has cabbage which I felt is a bit odd, also the very inside layer of the wrapper is a bit doughy and undercooked. But on the positive side, it is not a frozen refried samosa. Definitely made from scratch, a little less temperature oil and a little bit more frying time would have been perfect! The chutneys (both tamarind and cilantro ones) are very good. The Mano lassi is OK, a bit watery and they put more sugar than they should. The chicken biriyani we asked for mild. The biriyani comes with basmati rice, chicken pieces. Surprisingly they put cilantro and sliced bell peppers there which is odd as biriyani doesn't come with peppers. The biriyani doesn't taste like something they made in layers (like a traditional biriyani). It's more Americanized!! So biriyani is also OK for my taste! The lamb curry was AMAZING! Hands down, one of the best lamb curries I have ever reviewed. Very well tender lamb and the gravy tastes very well balanced. The garlic naan was AMAZING! I have nothing else to say, it's exactly as someone can hope a garlic naan should be.The butter chicken is AVERAGE! I normally have low expectation for this dish as this is an Americanized dish (you won't find butter chicken in India). The gravy is creamy and well flavored but I found a chicken piece, and I can smell chicken. When comes to Indian cooking, one reason I prefer them is that everything is cooked in the gravy, so the juices for soaked in the meat. The smell of chicken should be nonexistent. Maybe it's over critical for some people, but I don't expect an Indian dish has any raw smell of meat. It's well cooked but just doesn't mixed well together.Paneer bhurji is GOOD! It's a dish with Indian cottage cheese, green peas mixed with various spices. This dish is good as authentic as it can be. I can try this dish again.Chicken korma is GOOD! The gravy is very thick and really good. The gravy is very creamy and very delicious and chicken is very tendered and well cooked. Overall a definitely good Indian place.

Excellent food. I think it is one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. Naan was great. We also had the Veggie korma, lamb vindaloo, butter chicken and chick tikka masala. All were great.

This is my third time here and I live in Salida, but I'm from Fremont, CA where every kind of Indian cuisine is everywhere. I really like this place so far. I've had the saag paneer, saag chicken, and butter chicken and always get a tava roti. It always tastes homemade and flavorful. The chicken portions in the sauces are perfect and it's not a few pieces floating in a ton of gravy/ sauce. I want to try the buffet but haven't yet. Anyways they have a great menu with chaat, all kinds of meat, and even meatless dishes. Looking forward to more meals here for sure.

Brand new Indian restaurant just opened a week ago. The prices are affordable. They have meat and vegetarian options. They also have lunch buffet everyday for $20 which is a nice deal that I look forward to in the future. I had ordered the chicken tikka masala and an order of the samosas and garlic naan bread. The masala comes with rice. Even though I ordered mild, it was not at all spicy. I will try medium spicy next time. The garlic naan was very tasty. The samosas are very different than other indian places. Their version has a lot more green peas which I think is a delight and healthy. The fry on it was nice and soft and crispy at the same time. Price for Portion wise is very good. You could feed two people for one order of curry unless you are truly very hungry.

Food was absolutely delicious. Many vegetarian and vegan options. I really hope this restaurant is able to thrive as there are not many quality Indian restaurants in our area.

By far the most pleasant Indian Food restaurant I have been to. The dining area was very clean and the staff was pleasant. The food was the star though. Overall, I am not generally as huge a fan of Indian Food as my wife, but I could easily eat here frequently. Would loved to have taken a photo of the food, but there was nothing left

I rarely write reviews and I hate too but this place served us Raw chicken... Me and my bf wanted Indian food so we decided to check out this new Indian place on salida, it was a nice place and the food so far was good but being honest the "buffet" was okay, there wasn't much selections on there and if you would wanna order something on the menu on top of that is pretty expensive. So you should make sure to look at the buffet section before agreeing because like what we did we decided to grab something on the menu as well because the buffet section wasn't satisfying our cravings. My bf grabbed the chicken and liked the flavor but came to find out it was raw. He grabbed 4 and they were all raw so that kinda made us lose our appetite.. if the chicken was fully cooked then we wouldn't have no problem with coming back but idk how I feel about uncooked chicken.Updated next day- my bf isn't feeling well at all, his stomach had been hurting since the day of, I think he has food poisoning!

It was absolutely fantastic! I had butter chicken, malai kofta, and samosa's-- everything was fresh, the service was fast with friendly and familiar staff, and the restaurant is so clean!I will be coming here frequently!
