Came here for one of their monthly events and also checked out the inside of the museum.COST - Free! if you are in the area and they are open it might be worth checking out if you want something quick to do and also if you have any toddlers that like train tables :)EVENTS - they have several events if you look at their website, during the summer months on the first saturday of the month they have events geared towards kids. The one we went to was a back in time event making candles, leather tags, butter etc. and was fun for my almost 3 year old to enjoy. They also have a monthly storytime where they read books and do a craft. I haven't taken my son yet but it's an option.EXHIBITS - the exhibits rotate so it depends on what you are interested in. There are three "rooms" or areas. One is the entrance where it has the kids corner and store. The store has memorabilia about Pleasanton and the surrounding areas. The kids corner has a train table so if you have a toddler son or child who likes train tables that would be a nice thing to do to keep them busy. Some of the pieces seemed to be missing though so the track wasn't complete. There is also a little craft for them to do.The second and third rooms have more exhibits, I think one of the rooms is the rotating exhibit and the other room is more about the history of Pleasanton and probably more permanent. The entire museum can probably be done in less than an hour if you really take the time to read and look at everything. Most people will probably take 30 minutes or less.Overall, a nice addition to downtown if you're looking for history on Pleasanton or somewhere to have your toddler kill time and play. I like that it's free and that they have monthly events!

It's small but interesting! And it's free! Toss a few bucks in the donation bin or buy a unique item from their gift shop to keep this little museum going.

It's a free museum in the heart of downtown Pleasanton. You can contribute by giving a few dollars in donations, but it's still free! It's a rather small museum on the history of Pleasanton, so you won't be here long, but remember this key word. Free. Don't expect too much, but it's still worth a little visit if you're in the downtown area. They even had a room dedicated to Halloween. Again, worth a visit, but don't expect too much.

I lived here for 10 years and only visited after I moved away. It seemed like it was always closed every time I tried to visit as a resident. Two main rooms and a gift shop. One is historical items from Pleasanton, the other is a rotating exhibition. When I went in November of 2018, it was wedding dresses from random people in the community. I just had a feeling like this was something Nellie Oleson from Little House on the Prairie would put together, as in, "here are some clothes of random rich people in this tiny town."I'm not sure if they have archives or something that isn't on display that people are donating to protect because I'm surprised they are able to keep the lights on with such a small exhibit that could easily be kept on display at the library down the street.

What an awesome small-town museum! This past weekend I visited MOM to see the exhibit: Multiply By Six Million: Portraits and Stories of Holocaust Survivors. The exhibit was beautifully done. From the exhibit:"Multiply By Six Million: A Personal Perspective on the Holocaust is a visually arresting and powerful first-person history of one of the defining events of the 20th century through original black and white portraits and personal stories of Holocaust survivors living in California.Critically lauded, the exhibition showcases photographer E v v y Eisen's fifteen year-long project working with this unique group of Californians. Each piece includes a dramatic black-and-white portrait and compelling narrative of the Survivors' own description of his/her experiences before during and after World War II."Go see it - until March 2, 2014. My wife and I took our three kids - we viewed the photos, read the stories and watched the video - tears flowed. Dear MOM, thank you for hosting an amazing exhibit. Your museum may be small, but it's a WINNER!4.75 stars.

Super cute museum!! Great for kids and adults alike. It's a small place, but entry is free. Donations welcome. :)Old typewriter right in front and some old toys kids can touch/feel/play. My kids 11,8, and 6 were entertained for a good 30 min. They could have probably hung out a little bit longer too. History of pleasanton and a cute little exhibit they change out every 2 months. Should stop by and support!

My son and I and a couple of others have been going to M.O.M (museum on main) story hour every second wednesday of the month for about a year now. It is really cute. Great for kids 0-5 from 10-11. They usually read two stories and then do a craft. All of this is free but I always give them a couple bucks donation in the front ... They do such a good job with the children's program and use quality craft items and amazing volunteers.I hope they keep this going!

This museum is very small, which makes sense because it's really a converted house. There is not a lot of information inside; just a few bits and pieces about the town of Pleasanton, its history, and its residents. There is no entry fee; however they do ask that you make a donation if possible. There are three rooms: The room on the left houses a lot of history of Pleasanton, including a lot of artifacts taken from the 1800's, most notably the piano (which you can't play). The first room on the right is a little gift shop, and the room on the far right has information about the local rotary club that runs the museum. For me, the most interesting part was the giant cookie costume in the hallway. I know there is a specific name for the mascot, but I can't think of it off the top of my head. The costume has a little history through pictures behind it and it's actually quite interesting. I wouldn't recommend this museum as a scheduled trip. However, if you happen to be in the area and looking for something cheap, fun, and a bit interesting to do, I would recommend it.

A totally funky little experience in downtown Pleasanton. They have odd little exhibits, like something from major holidays for all different cultures, religions. They have the history of Pleasanton, which is short and sweet. It's a fun little stop if you have half an hour to spare.
