My son has been going here for 3 years. He loves the atmosphere! Dennis, his shifu is a great leader and motivator! Great with the kids and understands all their needs! He is a master of helping them attain their goals and they have a blast while doing it! I recommend Moore's Karate for those who wish to truly learn this discipline. Or for any parents that want their children to have fun and learn how to defend themselves if they're in danger.

Here's what I can tell you, there WAS no such think as Shòu Shù, until the Moore's created it, and it's certainly NOT "an ancient Chinese martial art...". It is a made up style, which was developed, not in China, but in Stockton, California. The translation of "Shòu Shù" is simply "animal training". The founder of Moore's Karate, Al Moore... received his black belt in Alamo California at Richard Lee's East West Kung Fu, as did his son Al Moore Junior; which is fact the style of "Bok-Fu-Do" or "the system of the White Tiger". All the stories about Al Moore fighting in pits in China is all made-up, marketing bull**it. Much of the material and systems were taken from Richard Lee. All you need to do is walk into Richard Lee's East West KungFu in Alamo California and the records are available to see that Al Senior and Junior received their black belts at this location in the Bay Area. Now, all that said... that doesn't mean what you learn at Moore's isn't valuable; it's VERY valuable... after all, much of it is Bok-Fu-Do, which is a Chinese system of martial arts that is composed of many different fighting arts from around the world. It is one of the few systems of martial arts founded and developed in the west that is truly internationally recognized because of its content and consistent success in world competition. So while you'll learn a great style, just know that it's Richard Lee's Bok-Fu-Do, which was exploited/exported to the central valley by the Moore's for $$$$ more than 35 years ago."Truth is the backbone of character..."

Best Karate Studio in the area! Master Doyle truly knows his craft and is excellent at teaching his students. My boys have both grown leaps and bounds since they started attending just shy of a year ago! It's truly a family environment and I love all the karate camps, karate in the park, and even sparring tournaments. But most of all the respect my boys have learned! Anyone looking into karate should definately look into joining Moores Karate of Lodi!

Awesome place to take your kids for karate. There is also adult classes. The instructor is very good with the kids, he's firm but not too firm. I recommend Moore's karate of Lodi.

Moore's is the best family Karate studio. The kids program is run very very well and my 2 kids can't wait for their class time. The adult program is run at your pace and ability. When we go we have lots of good fun (games that encourage strength and balance, people who have a great time while learning) learn a ton of information on how to keep yourself and family safe. At the end I have a huge smile, can't believe what I was able to do and got a super good workout without the gyms boring machines or impersonal classes. I suggest this for anyone 3-100.

This is the best martial arts studio/dojo ever! I am a 9 brown belt now but I'm getting a brown-red later. Their demoes are superb and the classes are organized and there's a lot of kids to teach. The art really teaches you to pack a punch in a strike and it also teaches you about great respect and discipline. The instructor is really nice and this is why I voted 5 stars.

I've been going to Moore's in Lodi since they've been at the old, old location. I went from a white belt to a black belt, and the teaching is awesome. Shun Shifu Doyle run's this location and he is an awesome instructor. I highly recommend this studio, especially to women and children who really need to know how to protect themselves. Moore's teaches practical self-defense as well as different animal style martial arts. At least try it out if you're not sure. I believe he gives a free introductory lesson. This place is great for everyone of all ages. Also, what I think is great about it is that they tailor the movements so it works for you.
