Sukiyaki Sushi quickly became our favorite spot for date nights! On our first visit, we noticed how popular this place is, especially around dinner time. We snagged some seats at the bar and ended up chatting with the chef, who made our experience even better by suggesting a few rolls.The sushi here is exceptional--I've lived in San Francisco for over 13 years, and it's hard to impress me with sushi, but Sukiyaki did just that. Our go-to rolls are Nick's Mango Rolls and the Stardom Roll. The Sunset Roll and King Fish are also must-tries!We love pairing our sushi with their unfiltered lychee sake; it's smooth and refreshing. The customer service is top-notch, too--being a family-owned restaurant, you can really feel the warmth and care in every interaction.If you're looking for amazing sushi and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. Nothing else compares. Highly recommend!

Tried this place for the first time. It's cute and clean inside. The staff were very nice.For appetizer, we loved the spicy edamame and finished it all. Definitely addictive. For sushi, we got the spicy tuna and super California roll which were beautifully presented on a board. One roll is very filling. I also got the peanut chicken which was very crispy and flavorful. It was salty and there was too much sauce for our liking. Next time I'll have to try it with sauce on the side. I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

I love love coming here! The best sushi ever! So fresh and delicious! This time we got the rainbow roll along with the other regular rolls we always get when we come by! The servers are friendly and speedy. Chef was a young guy that did great and is quick. It is a small place and cozy.

We were craving sushi and ramen and this place really hit the stop. Sushi places within Central Valley can be really hit and miss; however, this place was phenomenal.The broth, chashu, and noodles were delicious in the tonkatsu ramen. We tried the dynamite and King Kong rolls, and both were tasty!We tried the sushi nachos which were much like a poke bowl but the base was fried won tons. Extremely flavorful.The order of tempura came with FOUR tempura shrimps! We were so taken away because most places give one or two.The service was quick and helpful. We were surprised how empty it was during lunch and with how good the food was. Overall, we'll definitely be hitting this place up again and is worth the 25 minute drive from Manteca.

Unfortunately we didn't sit long enough due to the smell coming in from next door through the vents I'm guessing. Next door to the restaurant is a nail salon and that acrylic smell somehow seeped into the restaurant. Strange I know, but my husband was like "I'm sorry, I can't, I'm getting nauseous." We had to leave a little embarrassed to just walk out and luckily the person who sat us down had stepped away.

Their chicken katsu curry was very satisfying. My only suggestion would be to add some variety to their tsukemono (pickled toppings). The sushi was expensive but I can see why; large cuts of good quality fish and served on a fancy wooden cheeseboard. The ambiance was nostalgic of Japan with the exception of typical American pop over the speakers, which kind of takes away from what they're going for. I would come back to try their sukiyaki!

The baked mussels are a must try! So much flavor in each bite. I've been here a couple of times already and it was a mandatory order for me each time. I also love their ramen, personally I think the spicy version is better than the original but that's just my preference. My partner prefers the original so it's just which ever broth taste suits you! I think one of my favorite things about this place is how it's a small restaurant with dim lighting, it makes the atmosphere feel calming and inviting.

The Spicy Miso Ramen was the best I've ever had, and I've had Ramen in all the big cities where good Ramen is usually found. But none of them hold a candle to this place. Great service, the best food in large portions and great prices.
