I come here often and love the area, but unfortunately we had a car break in. We saw a couple skulking out of the lot in their car as we returned from our hike... they looked out of place and I'm pretty sure it was the people who had just pulled in that scared them off. We got lucky that nothing was taken, just a bummer to have to replace a window after doing something wholesome like taking our dog to a nature reserve.Otherwise this place is lovely. The trails are well maintained, the bike lanes are in good shape and clearly marked, and the reserve is clean. I love to take the long way around across the high levee because there is a little creek that runs by and it's just so pleasant to listen to as you walk.

Louie and I went for a walk. We only walked about a mile in and turned around. It was nice. I parked by downtown. Not a parking lot normally can park on a street

My friend and I decided to do a hike while in Sacramento for vacay. I didn't see that many nearby places that were open. There were a few beautiful hiking trails in Davis near UCD but they weren't open yet. This hike is a gem, fairly close to Sacramento. I would say it's an easy hike with some shade and beautiful scenery. We set a timer for one hour but there are several trails in this area that you can try that take much longer. We were the only ones with masks on, but I think people don't tend to wear masks in Sacramento unless it's inside an establishment. Took several beautiful pics, Instagram-worthy!

One of my favorite and most serene places to go on our walks. Either way you go, it's beautiful. There's a park near by for the kiddos to play if you choose. I think online it says the trail is about 8 miles but we typically go 1-3 miles on our walks and the kiddo likes to ride his bike. This time of year makes for great weather as well. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do. I like to be present on my walks but I did snap a few pictures the other day.

The construction near HARDING BLVD has been completed and the trail is back to normal , fully open so you can ride all the way through from downtown Roseville to the end at Sierra College blvd , no need to take detours , you can enjoy the trail as usual.

Finding this great walking/bike trail right here in Roseville was a delight. PROS: The path is wide enough for both. It's a very peaceful area to walk. Most all of the trails are paved. They have benches along the way to sit and chat with friends. Each path is marked with street signs to where it leads, which is great...especially for a newbie like myself. Walking bridges over water. Parking is easy and assessable. The park also allows dogs, if your furry babies are on a leash.CONS: No restrooms, or water fountains. No trash cans. No stands holding poop bags, so bring your own bag, to pick up after your furry friends!I highly recommend this walking / bike trail.

I just went on a hike today here with my husband. It is our fifth year wedding anniversary and since most things are still closed and we can't travel anywhere, we obviously stayed local. We woke up to a hearty breakfast of whole wheat pancakes and raspberries on top then after taking a nap (because we went into a food coma), we decided to go for a walk at the Miner's Ravine in Roseville. My husband has been here a few times (because he is an avid nature lover) and this was my first time on this walking/ bike trial. The scenery is gorgeous and is full of trees, a beautiful creek and lots of exotic plants and flowers too. The trial is super long and is about eight miles in length and very dry and hot too and a little bit hilly. It was nice to embrace in the beauty of this walk and enjoy the beautiful clean air since there is not a lot of cars driving at that moment since the city is still on shelter lockdown. The walk is not too difficult or extraneous; we run into lots of locals riding their bikes and walking together in groups. I had a nice time but, my one regret was that we didn't take any bottles of water with us because their is not a lot of shade on the beaten path and walking under these conditions and in the sun left me and my hubby a little dehydrated and drained. I do recommend coming here to take a break from your every day lives to enjoy a nice walk and the beautiful nature that surrounds it.

If there's one thing that gets me motivated, its exploring the open road by foot or bicycle. And one hidden gem that the city of Roseville offers in none other than the "Miners Ravine Trail". I thought I had seen it all especially doing my fair share of biking/jogging in Sacramento and Folsom. Boy was I wrong! This has got to be one of the nicest and cleanest trails I have ever seen. Those of you that are familiar with Roseville know that its a very large, populated city. And with the 130,000+ inhabitants that reside here, traffic can be a nightmare on any given day. Especially with the retail, commercial, and residential districts that keep its economy flowing. Well for those who wish to escape the craziness of the city, this just might be the solution. The one advantage of this trail is that you have access to the trail at many different points. Since I like to have the full 7.5 mile experience, I like to start out at Royer Park which is off of Douglas Blvd. and close to Downtown Roseville. When starting this part of the trail, you will be greeted by several wildlife such as wild turkeys, birds, horses, and ducks. And the beauty is so amazing, you will actually think you're in a rural area.Throughout the entire stretch of the trail, you will see many flowing creeks that are adjacent to Dry Creek. You will also see a variety of foliage and even glance at the backyard of peoples' homes including a giant barn on the western part of the trail. When you head to the eastern part of the trail, you will see some giant 5,000+ square foot mansions. And the big difference between this trail and the American River trail (which goes from Old Sacramento to Folsom), there are WAY less cyclists which make it way more calm. This trail you will see families with their kids, walkers, and joggers. Since I actually work in Roseville, I have seen several landmarks that I pass through (by car) on a daily basis. And by exploring this trail by bike or foot, it puts things in a much different perspective. On this trail, you will pass directly by Sculpture Park, United Artists Theaters, and Holiday Inn Express, just to name a few. Additionally, there are several benches if you need to take a breather as well as mile markers on the trail. Not to mention, the entire stretch of the trail is paved very smoothly,Overall, this is a great trail that I highly recommend. Do keep in mind that if you plan to jog/bike from west to east (Royer Park to Sierra College Blvd.), most of the trip is uphill. It may not be the longest stretch of trails compared to Sacramento but for the city of Roseville, this is definitely one that I will come to frequently.

My nephews and I absolutely love it here. Great for hiking around, climbing trees, and checking out the big rock! Last time we were here we found a bird nested in a hollowed out tree trunk!
