I've been wanting to visit this place for a while and finally got the chance to. This is a pretty nice winery with excellent wines, food, and employees. We came on a weekday so it wasn't busy and parking was easy. My brother and I opted for the $10 wine tasting which includes a tasting of 5 wines of your choice. I'm not a huge wine connoisseur, I wish I was but I generally drink what tastes good to me. We chose the freakshow zin, the freakshow cab, the sixth sense syrah, the earthquake zin, and earthquake cab. Our favorite was the sixth sense syrah and had to buy a bottle to bring home. While enjoying our wine, we walked about the grounds. I love that they allow children and have a playground for the kids. It was nice enjoying wine and time with my family. I definitely would recommend this winery!

I've heard so many great things about Michael David Winery, so I finally got the chance to check it out the weekend before Thanksgiving. And let me tell you, the whole experience was amazing from start to finish.I called ahead to make a reservation, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave me all the info about private wine tastings and their bistro bar service, but since it was my first time, I decided to go with the regular wine tasting. There was some road construction, so my friend showed up a little late for our 11 AM reservation, and I was worried they'd cut our tasting short. But no problem! Our hostess was so understanding and still gave us the full 45-minute tasting. She walked us through the different wines Michael David offers, and I loved how she explained everything in a way that was easy to understand--no wine snobbery here. I'm not a wine expert, but I didn't feel out of place at all. My friend did the reserve tasting, and we both ended up joining their Misfits and Mavens wine club because we liked the wines so much.Afterwards, we grabbed a late lunch at the Farm Café. I had the chicken and brie sandwich, which was incredible, and my friend went for the burrata burger--definitely a mouthful! Service at the café was top-notch, too.I came back this past weekend with another friend in the late afternoon, and it was pretty packed. My first visit was early, so it was much quieter then. The tasting room and restaurant are on the smaller side, so it felt a little cramped when it got busy. I'd definitely recommend coming earlier in the day if you want a more relaxed vibe. One thing that surprised me was how close the winery is to the 5 freeway--you can actually see it from the parking lot. But once you're there, it really feels like a peaceful oasis. Definitely planning to go back!

This is a long overdue review. Let's just say, this place is gorgeous! I came here with several friends for lunch. Note that you need to make reservations prior to coming and also put a deposit down ($5 per person) that will be returned back when you check in. It was my first time, but I really enjoyed myself. The lunch prices were very reasonable with lively music playing. We ordered pitchers of the red and the white sangria and I enjoyed the white sangria more. Great place to enjoy good food with good company while enjoying the beautiful view. I shall be back.

One of my go to wineries in the Lodi area. Michael David has a spectacular outdoor tasting area with greenery, flowers, and water feature. There are 2 indoor tasting rooms as well. The smaller one is attached to the cafe/restaurant. They host different events throughout the year, more so in the summer. Top favorite would be Cinco de Vino. I use to be a wine member but I wasn't going through my wine fast enough. FYI they offer member benefits and discounts.

The best winery in the Lodi area for sure! The food in the kitchen is delicious all year, and when the weather warms up you can have pizza from their oven on the beautiful grounds. And of course the wines are great and reasonably priced. We love the service too, everyone is friendly and knowledgeable! :)

Such a cute winery! I booked an indoor reservation and there was a lot of space inside. The outdoors was also gorgeous with lots of flowers and decor. I think it would be great to try an outdoors reservation as well, each seating area was well-shaded with lots of umbrellas surrounding chairs. My favorites were the Symphony (semi sweet white wine) and the Reserve Cab Sauv! Would highly recommend those if you go. I was not as big of a fan of the Sauvignon Blanc, it leaned more tart/citrus forward for me that I prefer. The Inkblot Cab Sauv smelled like bell peppers so I did not love that...but at least it tasted better than it smelled! The Reserve and Petite Syrah were smooth, medium to full bodied reds. Tastings are either $10 (standard) or $15 (reserve/limited release). The reserve tasting really pays for itself because you get to try bottles that are on the higher end in price.

Day 2 Stop 2Ok, IMHO It's one of the largest and best organized retail wineries in the Lodi/Galt area (maybe even in all of the NorCal area as well)I'm sure some of you may be familiar with labels of Earthquake, FreakShow, Pinot Pinot.... as they are all around in markets and box stores right? Well, you are never too old to learn a few things as I found out their vintage bottles are quite delightful including Cinsaut, a 2000 year old vine who's grapes (and the winemaker of course) makes a delightful bottle of wine.In the summers, they have their outdoor dining overlooking their pond. Or you can select a table outside in the patio area (just look for the Freakshow lights)At anytime of year, you can do your winetasting in their wine room (climate controlled to a nice 69 degrees). Thank you Kylsee for being such a wonderful hostess. Can't wait to taste with you again!Bottom line? regardless of where you are at the winery, you will have a great table with great tastings.

First time at Michael-David, and enjoyed our visit. We had a tasting reservation, and were seated for lunch within 15 minutes. Loved our lunch, lots of choices. For the wine tasting, we had a fantastic server, Evette and had fun learning about their extensive offering. We took home several bottles, and will return!
