Inn Keeper was welcoming and helpful throughout stay. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, amenities were sufficient and grounds felt safe. Booking with Tim over the phone was easy and informative. Overall property is well-tended, inviting and calm. Watched the trees out the window with morning coffee. Couldn't ask for more, will be back.Thank you !!

Review #160 - 2020This review was previously written as a 3-star, but then my son came home and realized a few days later that he had forgotten his $200 Ferragamo belt in one of the drawers.Normally, my son shares a room with his younger sister and I; but since his cousins begged him to stay with them, he couldn't say no. If he'd stayed in the same room as us, he would've never forgotten anything because I always tell him to double check everything. He called the owner on Thursday, August 27th, and the owner said he had the belt in his possession. Thank goodness! The owner told us that he would mail it to us--as long as I provided my credit card info to pay for the shipping fee (which I had no problem with), but he didn't know when he would have the time to head to the post office. Fast forward to Monday, August 31st, and the belt arrived safely in our mailbox! Talk about staying on top of it!The hotel may be a 3-star stay, but customer service is definitely 10-star worthy!Thank you!!!----------------------------------------------I previously booked a cabin for 12 people about two months ago and as our trip drew near, the group size grew to 16 people so the cabin owner had to cancel our reservation the day before our trip.I was pretty disappointed because all my nieces and nephews were super excited about staying at the cabin. Sadly, they weren't able to accommodate us so I had to start looking for a back up plan.I was able to book four rooms at The Christmas Tree Inn at $160/night. Luckily, my siblings weren't too disappointed with the last minute change. We showed up at around 4 PM on Saturday, August 22nd for an overnight stay. Check-in was super quick and easy. My siblings actually showed up about an hour before me since I had to make a few stops to pick up food & drinks for our group. The owner was nice & easy going. He didn't make a big deal out of the fact that I forgot my mask. Check out was just as easy. He just told us to leave our keys in the room and close the door. The room was clean, but pretty outdated. The a/c worked very well, thank goodness, because it was 90° out plus the smoke from the fire didn't help. There's a picnic table right out front so we made good use of it for our late lunch and breakfast the next morning. There's plenty of available parking since our group was probably the only ones there. The hotel is less than half an hour away from Pinecrest Lake, which was nice.

Pretty basic old school motel. Front desk was friendly. Pets welcome but costs an extra $25. Pricey in my opinion at $195 including pet fee.Not a big fan so next time we'll stay elsewhere.

Comfy rooms, cute owners, wireless internet, fridge and mircrowave and a full time pool make this place a nice place to stay. I would stop here again if I was in the Mi Wuk Village or near one of their many 200 and under population towns :D I look forward to coming back here maybe during ski season! Enjoy.

- Good things: The beds were reasonably clean, firm, and with no significant sagging. The floor was reasonably clean. Plenty of hot water. Fridge, TV, and microwave oven were working. Room was serviced during stay. No smoke, pet, or perfume odors.- Not great: The hotel is near the highway so it can be loud. The region may be smoky at night. Yet another chest-high showerhead. The bathroom fixtures are past expiration. Stains on sheets and towels that you don't want to think about.- Needs fixing: Filth and cobwebs on the walls, doors, ceiling, and bathroom. There was a bit of poop next to the "sanitized" label on the toilet seat. WiFi only intermittently works. Pool not maintained.- Kinda mad: $150/night (with the $25 pet fee) is a lot to ask for the general condition of the hotel.
