Beautiful well maintained Private Golf and Country Club.Great Staff and Food was excellent

Fun place to hit a few balls, relaxed atmosphere and kid friendly. Batting cages were under construction for now but looking forward to them being back open. Great for a weekend evening !

Ok. So who am I to judge about Country Clubs when I've never really been to one before! Ha. Well, I'm still human and I am still critical just as anyone else would be. Here goes it. Our company sponsored this Breast Cancer event: Par for HOPE, and I was one of the members invited to go and attend this golf tournament. Mind you I've N E V E R ever played golf in my life, nor have I ever been to a country club before, so I decide I'm going to head out there in some jeans and a polo. We've been there for about 2 hours. We're chatting it up w/ the head owner and most of the administration there. It's going great.Finally I go onto the green and practice my putting. A MEMBER from the club walks up and smirks at me, I brush it off, I already knew it was coming... c'mon now I'm at a country club which means there's going to be a lot of rich snooty people who think they're better than me there. Another 10 mintues, and I'm about ready to head out to the driving range.. the same lady comes up to me and says, "you're not allowed to wear jeans, don't you know anything?" of course I don't! I've never done this before, I let her know, "I didn't know, this is my first time here and so far the president and his admistration hasn't told me, I'm sorry." She walks up to the president and I didn't hear anything but I did see her hands waving up in the air. She walks up to me and apologizes and tells me I NEED to go home and change. WOW. Of course I went home and changed. I came back w/ some boyshorts ha ha ha. They didn't say anything to me afterwards, not even a SORRY. I asked the President if I did something wrong & she actually said to me, "oh, we just don't want people to think we let anyone into the club". I just walked away. Really hurt. But that's that.The course is really small, but it's nice. I've seen better from other places but, that's only from a distance. so...LOCATION: PRIVATE & NICEOWNERS: BLASH!!!!

Bring your A game to this shotmakers golf course. Starting a the first hole you'll see that your in for a long day in the trees if you play Army Golf left-right-left- right. Greens are small and undulating but you'll have birdie opportunities if you can manage to hit them. The views of the Sierra's on a few holes are tremendous. Their membership is very reasonable, golf course is highly recommended.

This Yelp will be solely based on Golf and not cover the other amenities the club offers. Despite it being a "members only" club I was able to play with a member as a visitor so I'm hoping you'll be able to pair up with a member just as I did. Course: Well cared for and built for long narrow drives. Each fairway was generally straight but with trees lining each side it makes it easy to put yourself in a pickle if you can't keep a straight drive. If you're not a power driver then skilled placement with 3 to 4 shots will allow you to get to the green within Par. The trick is sinking your putt on the first attempt if you expect to Par or Bogey (1 over Par). Greens: Good sized and well kept, both the greens and the surrounding apron. Greens have a moderate speed and varied from subtle to moderate sized breaks. Practice Range: Narrow in width but otherwise a fantastic practice range. The balls stacked and waiting for players to warm up before hitting the course. I especially appreciated the distance markers being made of thick colored poles verses tattered and/or faded flags making them clearly seen.Short Game and Putting Green Practice: Same as range, excellent.Service: Good but with the heat of Merced we could've really used a beer cart or better water stops. The one water stop that had a fountain, cups and ice was a lifesaver.Overall: Great course but not to belabor a point...well OK belabor a little. When playing in 110+ heat there needs better water stops or regular drink cart roaming the course. For that reason alone I'm giving it a 4 Star verse 5.

The course is in excellent shape especially the greens. It is an older course, but with a good variety of holes. I really like the back nine as it has three par 3s, three par 4s and three par 5s, which is a little different than most courses. Service in the pro shop and clubhouse/bar was excellent. Practice facilities included a range, short chipping range including sand trap and putting green; so you can work on any part of your games. They even have a pool table, so you can grab a beer and play some "billiards". The members were welcoming and friendly. If you can get on this course it is certainly worth it. Better yet, if you live in the area they have lots of special deals for young players, young families, or folks that only play a couple of times a month.

We had our wedding reception here and were helped by Bernadette, the manager. She was so helpful and answered all of our many questions. The setup was done with ease with the help from additional staff. Everyone put our needs above everything else. I truly felt special on my wedding day. To top it off, the dinner was delicious! We got many compliments from our friends and family too. I highly recommend for any special event.

I have contemplated on writing a review for this country club but I should have filed a sexual harassment claim. I was hired to be a server for the Country Club and when the manager, Berna Lucas, hired me she said word for word "whatever happens at the Country Club, stays at the country club." I thought that was a weird thing to say to an employee but she explained there are a lot of rich people who come to the club. The next day I come in for my first day of training, i'm shadowing a server I cannot remember her name. As i'm following the server, an older man is making eye contact with me. I just smile it's my first day. It was a really hot day I actually dreaded the thought of being outside that day, so I notice this man is wearing Khaki shorts but that wasn't the only thing I noticed.. he was sitting with his body faced us, legs wide open with his private parts hanging out of his shorts. I questioned if the server who was training me saw, but she didn't say anything and I was afraid to speak up. The following day I go into work early to give my notice that I will not be working there. I should have explained the real reasoning but I told Berna and the bar manager that this job was not a good fit for me and made me uncomfortable. I do not recommend taking a job here as a server.

Fantastic service! I recently attended an event held here and was blown away by the service and the cleanliness of the entire venue! Beautiful inside. Would definitely recommend to anybody!
