McHenry House Second Time Around

Every time I get the urge to come here I tell myself never again. The money goes to a good cause, and occasionally you can find some good stuff, but their pricing is rage inducing. A thin black Sharpie marker ON THE ACTUAL GARMENT! This leave the piece of clothing pretty much valueless. In January I bought a GORGEOUS red taffeta 1950s prom dress with matching bolero, price and date written right on the fabric. Useless. With A vintage piece like that it is important to preserve it, not ink it up with a pen. Today was the last straw, a full Giggle Moon set in perfect condition, WITH BLACK INK PEN ALL OVER THE PANTS AND TOP! The price on the fabric Is infuriating enough, but shakey hands scribbling on the outside Is too much. Is it that hard to Invest three bucks in a d*amn price gun?!

Horrible experience.. I walked in with my stroller (not bulky) and as soon as I walked in instead of being greeted I was kicked out. This was my first time at the store, I don't know what's its like and the cashier said, "you can leave your stroller right here" as I turn to accommodate the stroller another employee said, "oh you have to leave that outside cause our isles are too small". I was irritated about the attitude BUT still I decided to leave the stroller out. They were still RUDE! All of them so I just walked out. I try to shop in Tracy and with this attitude I'm never coming back.

McHenry House Thrift store is not closed. I shop there for my kids clothes frequently and get good deals. The volunteers are helpful . They always get a variety of donations from several places .....for example Costco.

This store benefits McHenry House Shelter. It has some incredible deals! If you are a seasoned veteran of volunteer run thrift stores, you know that the customer service is VOLUNTEER. Yes, you may have to sacrifice nice, friendly greetings in order to get yourself a bargain and help a local family.

I love this place, always a good variety of clothing and house hold goods. As if the prices aren't already cheap, if the item has been on the floor for longer then 2 months, you get the item half price. I walked out with 8 sweaters, 2 pairs of pants and a pair of boots and shoulder bag for $25. I come from modesto just to shop here, cant find any better deals, plus the clothes are stylish and hardly worn. I buy for all my family, nice variety.

Recently bought a pair of heels for $4 that anywhere else would have cost me around $65 retail. AWESOME!
