A winter wonderland!
The kids even get there own TV!!
Just imagine hanging out on the deck during spring and summer!
We had the "Mocha" room. Everything was so very clean. And the amenities in the bathroom were special. Some were locally produced.
Blue Room was just incredible
There is a great room that is so warm and cozy ... filled with very good feelings of love!
All guest rooms look out to the forest
Stephanie even feeds the squirrels- yes squirrel food
Our son was married to the woman of his dreams in this fairy tale environment, the McCaffrey House. My husband & I are pictured there.
McCaffrey House is tucked into a forested hollow ... peaceful and secure!
Pure elegance in a wilderness setting!

We just love this place. It is a lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful location. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet, peaceful, and nicely decorated, and the breakfast is absolutely delicious. The woman who runs it is friendly and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend this bed & breakfast!

Stephanie, the innkeeper, was extremely accommodating when we needed to move our reservation up one day earlier. We had some wonderful talks on the phone and she and her family were very gracious to my husband, my daughter and myself, as well as our dog. The house and room were comfortable and clean while the breakfasts were yummy. And our dog made two good friends - Ollie and Buddha. We'll hope to be back someday!

I went to stay there on March 26 of 2024 by myself, and I was put in a really dangerous situation with the owner's son who had Covid who lives there full time, in the room next to mine. The owner knew that he had Covid. She also knew that he was right next to me and he was coughing a lot.As well, the room that I originally booked, apparently was the home to some transient . Well, I feel for people who don't have permanent homes. I also don't pay to go to an inn to be next to somebody who has Covid and somebody who is a transient. I had to leave that night in the area that I don't know at 10:30 at night in the dark and find another place to stay . My husband, in Los Angeles was trying to find a place for me. My friends who live in the area were also trying to find a place for me and called multiple times the McCaffrey house and they never picked up. As well, I called and emailed and went downstairs and could not find anybody and after 35 minutes I left in the pitch black, not knowing where I was with no signal to find anything and I had to just drive around until I stumbled upon a best western . Sadly, the owner is saying that I stayed which I did not . I did sign the agreement that I had read the cancellation policy, that said, it didn't stay in there that I would be put between a homeless person and somebody with Covid, which not only puts my life in danger, it puts anybody who I come in contact wit's life in danger if I had contracted Covid , and spread it. I've already left a review that was removed and I'm leaving another one. I hate to leave bad reviews about small places, but the owner should know better than to put guests lives in danger I don't book Airbnbs because I don't want to stay in somebody's house. I book inns or hotels so I can have a relaxing vacation. She knows that her son lives there and she also knew that he was sick that week put me in the room right next to him put me in danger. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs. Well, a month after I left, she tried to charge my husband's credit card for more than two nights stay .

This is my first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast, and let me tell you WOW! My boyfriend and i wanted to take a spontaneous last minute trip up to twain hart I searched around and stumbled upon McCaffery Bed and Breakfast looked at the reviews and felt confident! In all honesty i was a little weary since this was my first time but I am so grateful for the accommodations Stephanie provided. The house as it is looks stunning. The room ( Mocha Room) so beautifully neutral tones, comfortable bed, Fireplace and stunning views. Don't even get me started on the amazing breakfast she provided. Hospitality was overall outstanding

A cute B&B that's clean, friendly, and has an amazing breakfast. Beds were comfortable and the climate control was quiet. Room-to-room noise is a problem.Amenities - Combo bath/shower, gas fireplace, shared kitchen, spotty cellular, spotty WiFi, lots of stairs, patios, garden, swarms of mosquitoes, excellent home-made breakfast, dog friendly, free candy, random old DVD left in player.

This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast. We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. The best way to describe it is that it was like visiting a friend's home where you are provided your own bed and bath. There was a living room to enjoy a glass of wine or two before leaving for dinner and each morning we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room. Speaking of breakfast, I was expecting a buffet style service but was so wrong. We were served the usual coffee and juice along with a small bowl of fruit topped with a dollop of yogurt with a different entree each morning. Everything was delicious. Our hosts were wonderful As I stated earlier, it was like visiting with friends. Our dog even had her own friends to hang with. Their resident dog Ollie was just the cutest as were their visiting "grand pups" Buddha and Paul. We may make this place one of our annual vacation spots. If I were to find a negative it would be that they had poor cellular service but if you are intentionally wanting to get away from it all, then it isn't a big deal. There was a phone connected to a land line in our for local calls or emergencies and if you absolutely needed to use your cell, you could get in your car and drive a few hundred yards in either direction. I am looking forward to our return.

A friend of mine drove up from LA to visit me last March and attempted to spend the night at this inn. All was hunky dory until the owners son started hacking up half a lung alarming all of the guests. What's worse the proprietor went to sleep and could not be found to address the issue! The result was my own household spending good part of the night finding other accommodations for my friend nearby. Good grief! Imagine being a city person driving through Blair Witch darkness to the nearest hotel. Talk about traveling from the Overland to the Bates! Jinkies, how irresponsible can a proprietor be? When you work in a service industry BE AVAILABLE! Don't delegate administrative responsibilities to snot-nosed kids who can't even avoid catching COVID after two boosters.Don't stay at this place. If you've ever seen Doc Martin, the management is comparable to Bert Large and Son!

Please note, that I have reached out to the owner before writing this review and as of today, I have not received a response. I am guessing that the owners once were gracious but are now rude and offensive. From me being attacked in front of other guests for drinking her son's "irreplaceable" beer which was kept in the guest-accessible refrigerator along with sodas, water, and wine that was offered to guests to being rudely reminded that check-out time was 11 am even though the roads were closed due to snow and the stairs out of the house were iced over, I've never been so offended and upset. The house is surrounded by nature's beauty but desperately needs updating (think early 1990's). Make sure that you do not get a room in the front as you will hear traffic noise all night. The "gourmet" breakfast consists of pre-made casseroles and they ran out of coffee and creamer. Please, please, please look elsewhere for a place to stay if you are in Tuolumne County!!
