Matthew Turner Shipyard Park

My first time to this beautiful location. Very friendly neighborhood and people were very sweet. Just love the bridge view at sunsetThe downside is the porter potties. But other than that will definelty return for a short picnic. Definelty a beautiful scenery of the Vallejo bridge.

Remember the cops who rained on our parade? They didn't know that memories were made.

I love coming here to feed the duckies. I like to call them dinosaur ducks because they are sooo huge! keke. (They are actually geese.. but *shhhh! no one needs to know.) ;)This place holds a lot of sentimental value for me and my boyfriend. This was the first place he had taken me to before we started dating. If you would have seen how beautiful the sunset was that day you would have fallen in love with him too, lol. I used to hate sunsets and all that mooshy shtuff before he took me here. I never used to believe in the good of relationships because mine had all been bad. But you see, this very place, and that very sunset helped to prove it all wrong. Not much words were exchanged, and this was before he even help my hand that I already knew that I would fall in love with him.I like to come here to relax. I can almost never be unhappy when I come here. My bf and I used to use this park as a halfway point. He lived in SF and I lived in FF. We've had our first "date" here, our first Valentines here, and resolved one of our first big fights here. Haha, I think it's the view. It's just so pretty, it makes you want to forget everything bad that had ever happened.This place is magical. :3Haha. Okay, enough with the moosh mash and back to this place. Local fishermen come here through out the day to go fishing. Its nice seeing all of the fishing rods propped up and held in between the rocks. It's also a great place to enjoy the scenery or have a little pic nic. This little area over looks the Carquinez Bridge and the waves of the water is just so calming. But when you come here, watch out for the POOPS! Poops! Poops! Poops! Poops! EVERYWHERE! It's fun feeding the dinosaur ducks tho. They are a bit aggressive but lovable nonetheless. It's cute how they come running up to you, they remind me of puppies, needy little things. But don't touch em! Well, I wouldn't anyway. Who knows what kind of diseases these birds have! Or, it up to you... I'm not judging.. I would just say that you are reallllllly brave.This place is appropriate for all ages. I've seen kids play in the water on hot days with their families, old men and women fishing, young couples on a date, teenagers just "hangin", and mid aged men and women jogging. If you want to go get away for a bit, or just enjoy the air and scenery, this place would be a nice place to add to your list of visiting places.

I visited this park on a Sunday afternoon and found it mostly deserted. The reason is apparent when you walk across the grass. It is covered with goose droppings from all of the geese that are resting there.This seems to be a prime fishing spot as there were a half dozen men with 15 or so poles in the water. The only restroom is a portable outhouse.The points of interest for the park are a historic plaque that gives the history of the shipyard that was here before the park and, at low tide, the remains of a ship that wrecked here.The shoreline is mainly mud and rock and is not conducive to wading or swimming.

This beach is not that great. It is rumored to have a glass beach, but could not find it. Not much here, and the 9th street park is much better and only a block away.

Cute spot for picnics and other occasions! Highly recommend for a chill spot! Has the beach and park right next to each other.With park fairly close by!

This place is amazing for climbing! There are old cement walls that are fun to climb and plenty of rocks. Also there are a lot of geese which are skittish (as expected) but nice nonetheless. Also it's exciting to watch the windsurfers when they are out.
