Matsu Sushi Japanese Restaurant

We have stopped here a few times over the years coming back from Yosemite back to the city. It's easy to get to and we are quickly seated. The rolls are big and flavorful. We enjoyed the Cajun, Philadelphia experiment, tarantula roll and a two others. They have a tv with football playing while a radio station plays music with commercials. There are two, four and six tops. We were promptly greeted and sat down. We enjoy the food each time.

My boyfriend and I visited Matsu Sushi on Sunday, 10/22/23, during lunchtime.We decided to order a variety of different rolls such as the Cajun Tuna Roll, Mango Tango Roll, Samurai Roll, and Rainbow Roll. The presentation of the plating was beautiful, especially with the purple orchid. The rolls were prepared huge in every single bite. All of the rolls were tasty. My favorite out of the four was the Samurai Roll. We also got two of the Spicy Yellowtail Hand Rolls and one Philadelphia Hand Roll. Both were great, however, I truly enjoyed the Spicy Yellowtail the most. The quality of the yellowtail fish tasted amazing and the spicy sauce brought the entire roll together. The service of the staff members was nice, quick and pleasant. The restaurant was also nicely decorated on the inside. Overall, Matsu Sushi serves great, gigantic rolls. I recommend coming here.

Randomly was on the way home from work and decide to go on a food adventure. That adventure landed me at Matsu Sushi. The service at Matsu is very mom and pop style. The food to me is pricey but at the same time its delicious. I had the Mexican roll and fried calamari and some other sushi roll. The calamari is really good in my humble opinion. Matsu Sushi is good and is worthy of 4 stars.

I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and it was awful! Apparently they don't have professional sushi rollers there because it was so loose that the inside was falling apart and I was unable to pick it up with chopsticks! There was barely any rice on the outside and it was supposed to be with shrimp tempura avocado and crab but the crab was mixed with some type of cream. I have never had a roll so unprofessional done. Not only that within 2 hours of only consuming two pieces I was assaulted with abdominal pains and on the toilet.

Good, quick service and food was fantastic :) so good say I love the food. I loved the miso soup and the sushi. Siberian tiger

I thought the food was trash and garbage but I had thought I got the order wrong when I thought it was Mihana over by Spreckels and Target sorry I got the places wrong and the review was wrong so I am rewriting my view and my mistake and apologies on being disappointed in myself and embarrassing myself

Service was absolutely terrible and so was the food. Way overpriced for what you get and how it tastes.

The food was excellent and filling. I ordered shrimp tempura with salmon and tuna sushi and my wife had Korean beef with California sushi and we were both happy

My salmon was overcooked and tasted like it was old. The portion of salmon was very small, and the sauce tasted like it was from a bottle from the store. This place needs a new cook or chef. This guy didn't know what he was doing. It used to be better. The food has no flavor, and the price is high. I will not go back again.

On a Sunday evening while they had two large parties & a packed house, they sat us & we had our food in less than 15 minutes. Looks like a family owned business & they are hustling. Food was great, service was great! Thanks!
