Didn't make an appointment? Waiting at the gate? CALL THE PHONE NUMBER!We almost missed out on this gem because the gate was closed and we didn't make an appointment. Was about to drive on... But I decided to call and Farmer John was more than accommodating! It's a farm meets vineyard meets winery.Anyways, we called and Farmer John came and opened the gate for our two cars. We came in and parked next to the barn. He gave us the choice of tasting inside or outside - we chose outside. After the 15 minutes he needed to get ready, he rolled out with all the glasses and bottles required for a tasting for 5 adults. Most of the wines are fruit forward but we all really enjoyed that about them. They well blended. John also explained that he's not pressured to put out wines that he doesn't feel meet his standard. This is a passion for him.Great conversations followed. The kids all played around the grounds and even went to go meet the farm animals! We all bought 2 bottles (or more) each to cover our tasting. It was great enjoying this time and the conversations surrounded by green grass and a wonderful farm setting.Definitely will be coming back!

While driving from the Bay Area to Yosemite we wondered if there was a nice winery to stop at and we were lucky to find Marsella Family Vineyard. Farmer John greeted us warmly and proceeded to host a fabulous wine tasting. He's a cool guy and we learned a lot - even about some misadventures in wine making which was fun. We also learned that they make some darn good wine. We especially enjoyed their Chardonnay and Malbec and bought some bottles, but we honestly liked everything we tried (not always the case). The grounds are lovely, the music was great and I'm really happy we found this gem.

What a beautiful, local, family owned winery in the outskirts of Oakdale. Mr John was absolutely amazing with all of his knowledge on wine and telling stories of the properties history. The barn is such a beautiful backdrop for a wedding or special event. The pavilion where we enjoyed 4 tastings with cheese and homemade capolo and pudding, looked out to the vineyards. We enjoyed a red blend, Chardonnay, Mission Angelica and BeezelBob(My favorite was the Angelica). We scheduled our tasting with wife Kristi via email and was super relaxing. I had my 4 kids with us and they got to explore the farm feeding their horses and sheep. I definitely plan to be back again around a sunset hour to capture the beauty this winery offers.

We happened to be in the area and a friend told us about this little winery. We booked an appointment for a private tasting and tour of the vineyard. This is a small beautiful winery located in Oakdale. We met John and his son who gave us a tour of the vineyard and taught us about how they produce their different wines. Both individuals were so knowledgeable about the area and wine making. John had a great sense humor and so welcoming to his winery. The wine they produce are limited and that is what makes it so special. Very much like Europe, where you find family makers of wine who take great pride in what they produce. We tried two reds - Red Blend and Pinot Noir, along with two dessert wines. I am usually not a fan of dessert wines; however, these were outstanding. They are also in the process of making a special balsamic, such as those that you find in Modena, Italy, but they are a few years away from production. Put this vineyard on the map - I have a feeling that they will be making their mark in this region of California.

Quaint little place, but beautiful. The family that owns the place runs it and were very nice. Would be an awesome place for class reunions. There was an additional fire ring with chairs around it also. The barn is beautiful yet rustic with real bathrooms inside. Also a full kitchen w commercial ice maker for use if you have an event there. I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Loved it and would definitely go back
