Take a look around the entire park to get a complete sense of the park. There is quite a mixture of units.

We were reading Yelp reviews here and noticed two distinct camps; live there and love it, others have difficult time reserve a site due to host ignorance. We thought that probably happen to other folks and not us. Called to check availability as well reserve a site starting 1st day of December, came the reply "May be!" Hmm, either they have site or don't have a site, why implying they are not sure? We plowing on about our 19' travel trailer, 30A requirement... to allow them more flexibility of arrangement. Came the reply "The site is 50A and we don't convert to 30A", even with the Dog Bone we asked. We very sure that their website says 30/50A or 50A, but we know in full that even with 50A shore power it would have standard 120/240V 50A 3-pole 4-prong which we have adapter for. He said something about phase-in regulation BS but we already lost interest in wanting to stay with this place. Ignorance host deserves 1 star but contempt host deserves 0 star, but Yelp doesn't have 0 star rating so Mark J RV Park should feel blessed with 1 star given.

I called and asked about availability. Before I could even get out the date that I needed they said I'm full. Didn't even inquire what date I was looking at coming into the park. That's bad business.

Good park with good people. Spaces are large and it's a nice little community. It's not fancy, but one of the best long terms we've stayed at.

In between my various trips I stayed in Mark J from the fall of 2013 until September 2016.Mark J has been around for nearly 60 years, first platted in 1958.There are a few remaining permanent single-wides, but most spaces are occupied by RV's. There are many 'permanent' residents living in their trailers or motor homes. Mark J is an over 55 park, so there are no noisy kids running around except when someone's grands come for a visit. No pool. No playground. Does have a designated doggie yard. The clubhouse has a pool table and a 'kitchen' where residents can gather for parties and special occasions. The laundry is in a separate building with well maintained machines. Park WI-Fi is best in the clubhouse. It does not reach to the rear of the park. That said, AT&T does have phone lines to each site so if you're going to stay for an extended time you can get DSL internet. No cable TV. The spaces are large enough for your RV, your toad or other vehicle, and a nice concrete patio. There is a 3' 'green space' between each site. This has some bushes and some trees. Most sites have shade trees that provide some relief from morning or afternoon sun.The manager has been there for a long time and takes great pride in taking care of the park. Most residents and guests are solid political conservatives and many appear to be brainwashed by Fox News. The nice thing is that you can choose whether to interact with them or not.I don't give 5 stars because of the general neighborhood and access to the main street (Madison Ave) in front of the park. The neighborhood is (IMO) 'iffy' as I heard many gunshots outside the park over my time staying there. Police helicopters circling overhead in the general neighborhood are frequent visitors. Access to the busy street is problematic as the sight line to see on coming traffic is restricted by a hedge. Best to observe the nearby traffic light and wait for it to turn red before venturing out onto the street.Overall, a solid place to park your RV for a week or longer as they do not accept overnight transient guests. Generally, the park is near capacity most of the time. So it's best to call a day or two ahead of arrival to see if there is space available. Reservations a week or more in advance? Nope, not gonna happen. Get over it.

6/24/15 - Tried to make a reservation, was told they were all full. I said it's for the 26th of July (next month). Man on the phone said "I don't take reservations over a week out"?Well, his loss.If you're planning a trip to the Sacramento area and want to ensure you have a place to stay in advance, don't bother calling Mark J RV Park. A week ahead is just not going to make me feel good, what if they were going to be booked that week and I waited and missed out on any park.Bad business policy.

Stayed here for a month. Great quiet place with lots of mature trees for shade. It is very clean and quiet. The spaces are the widest of any rv park we have been to. We would definitely stay again.

We tried to make reservations here months ago, even drove over and looked at the park and spoke to Dave the manager. He told us he only books 2 weeks out...really!!! He said to call him 2 wks before we needed to ck in, we did, he then told us to call back and ck with him again because he said he had people cking out on the 31st. We then called back on the 31st and he said he had nothing and he couldn't accommodate us, after almost 2 mos. My husband was trying to explain to him that we didn't make plans anywhere else cause he said he had a spot. He was very rude and said can't help you and hung up!! I mean really!!! Never have I talked to anyone at an RV park that was so unfriendly and rude. If he didn't want us there he could of told us up front. I guess he has his favorites!! Well then we had to scramble to find another place to stay. NOT recommending this park to anyone!! Unless your a friend of Daves you'll have NO problem!!
