Amazing little restaurant. We stopped here after visiting a family member at doctors hospital. I looked at the Yelp reviews before stopping here and oh boy it was the best decision. Authentic Mexican food with good music and great service. Enjoyed our food and most of all the salsa bar. If you are in the area you need to stop here!

We were in the area late for kids birthday party, by the time we were heading home it was very late and I remembered Maria's is opened! After 10 pm and the place was very busy with a steady stream of folks coming in to order mostly for takeout. Ordered the crispy tacos with ground beef and taquitos again, this time the ground beef had no flavor, and it seemed more like chili meat than regular ground beef. For the taquitos or as they call them rolled tacos. I assume they would be chicken as they were before but instead they were also the same ground beef mixture.Everything was made to order and very fresh, but we were just not thrilled with the ground beef. Ordered another crispy taco with shredded beef and it was so much better.Folks at the counter are friendly and helpful, and even joke with their customers. From the interactions with people coming in, they get a lot of repeat customers.

Excellent no-frills taco place in Merced. We had a variety of tacos and burritos and all were delicious. Staff was friendly and attentive. Look forward to stopping back in on our next trip through town!

Asada Fries with extra meat, Chorizo second choice. No tomatoes or lettuce and cilantro with onions. Ask for the chipotle sauce and shower them on that. Oh My Goodness!! Thank me later. The Service was great and the people there working had always received me very good. The ambiance it cool, it's a small place inside but it's cool temperature, they got also a patio and a few tables with umbrellas. Come try it out!!

I've been coming here with my mom and grandma for years. The outside doesn't look very inviting, but the food is oh so delicious and so so worth it. It's a family owned business, and it doesn't get much more authentic than this. Everything is homemade and fresh, and their Pico de gaio is the best salsa ever. My usual order consists of 2-3 crispy shredded beef tacos that have lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and a large horchata. One of my favorite things is their free salsa bar! The family who owns it is super friendly and fast. My dad asked the son of the owner to make him the best burrito ever, and he really did, lol. These people are part of the community, and their food is top teir. 10/10!!! Will miss this place even when I move out of state...

There was a long piece of metal wire in my burrito. The quality hasn't been hit or miss for the past couple of years. It was my favorite place for chile verde since 2010. No more. I could have seriously hurt myself if I had been eating it from the foil wrapper in the middle. This is the worst ever! Not safe.

Let me start by saying I've been going to Maria's on & off for 10 plus yrs. The only consisted thing there would be the tamales. Yesterday I was craving a chorizo potato breakfast burrito so I went to Maria's. The only request I made was to really put a good crisp on the tortilla which the cook did perfectly. Today my father-in-law said he wanted another breakfast burrito like the one from yesterday. So we head to Maria's order the exact same breakfast burrito as yesterday. When we get home I find that the tortilla isn't crisp at all, actually really soggy, plus the amount of potatoes is minimal complete opposite of yesterday's food, but why? Why the difference from yesterday's cook & today's. The cooks should be able to make each dish pretty consistent with one another but that's the problem, they don't. My father-in-law was really upset that the cook didn't crisp the tortilla at all but said that she had. Also I worked in the restaurant-bar business for 15 years so I know the food should be consistent when any cook is preparing a dish.
