Chips and salsa served when you sit down. Both salsas are really good. Red and green both have a great flavor with just enough spice to not overwhelm you. IF chips were served warm it would be even better. Inside is bright with list of table seating. Service is usually pretty good. Food is consistent. Homemade tortillas and good menudo. Tastes like my grandpa used to make.

My first time and definitely not my last!!!! Was feeling a bit under the weather and wanted soup, let me tell you this is exactly what I needed!!!! We placed the order for pick up, and the soup was piping hot!!!! I can still feel it on my tongue. The soup had so much meat in it with a balance of enough veggies. We also got a side of rice and beans, a bonus of homemade tortillas! Our order was ready right when we picked up so we did not have to wait.

The absolute best Mexican food. The albondigas are fire!!! It's my husband and I, our favorite Sunday lunch spot.

I came into Maria's with my mom to have breakfast and it was packed. No problem, my mom and I waited for a table to become available. Once it did we walked over to the table, however we were quickly stopped and told they were going to ask a bigger party if they wanted to sit at that table which they refused. The gentleman who stopped us didn't acknowledge us after that. He didn't tell us "go ahead and sit down, the party refused the table" just left us standing around so we took the table. As this happened another table became available but someone walked in and took it and were quickly waited on while my mom and I sat at the table that nobody wanted. We waited 10 minutes while everyone else was helped. First and last time at this place. Do better, this is how small businesses fail in this city.

I love the convenience of Maria's Cafe in the downtown area. I reallyLove the staff. They're warm and always funny. Today I went with the supreme carne asada burrito. The burrito cost me $10.85. This burrito came with a side a chips and a crane to carry the big burrito. Look at the picture. I'm not lying about the size. As for the taste? It was delicious. Perfectly balanced burrito on a homemade tortilla. This thing was so big, I believe it could stand up on its own.

I came to use their bathroom and looking at the food and their drinks made me want to stay and eat. So I thought hey why not order a small hot chocolate? It was okay. It was creamy and at a really good temperature. This place I will definitely try one time with my fiancé if he is up for it! It's our first time together driving to Stockton on our own.

Great great food and wonderful service. Best chicken tacos in town. Also love the albondigas soup!!!

Great restaurant, locally owned, reasonably low prices and clean. I have been a customer for many years and look forward to the food every time I am in the 209. Highly Recommended

as usual the food was great and I love that they have half sizes on many of their plates and soups, but I really wish they would improve their service. I had to ask for a menu, then coffee, then flag her down to place my order, then chips and salsa, and no one brought water, despite that every one around me was brought water automatically with their menus ... and it wasn't that I was a solo diner as there were solo diners on each side of me! so in short, I would highly recommend take out as there would be no issues with their wait staff!
