Brentwood has some of the best family-friendly u-pick adventures and Maggiore is no exception. Came on a Sunday nearing the end of cherry-picking season and was surprised that the trees were still filled with ripe, beautiful, and sweet cherries. Tips/Additional Information:- Do make sure to come early in the morning. Crowds start coming in at around 9:30 which means fewer cherries for everyone.- The current price is $3.50/pound- Go to the back closer to the edge of the field, that's where you will get the most quality cherries.- Don't pick the cherries out in the sun as delicious as they look, they are usually smaller because the water moisture has been sucked out of them.Overall, such a fun activity for a weekend morning. Definitely will come back again for more!

picked here today, check in was easy, all worker was very friendly, the farms has lots cherry trees, it organized well, trees and ground are all nice & clean(without those white spots all over the leaves make me wondering if they may be just sprayed...) cherries are pretty fresh but many were ripe enough to pick, they charged $3.50 per lb, which consider very reasonable, yes, I 100% recommended this cherry U-Pick.

Cherry picking season is usually right before Memorial Day weekend and by the time it is Memorial Day weekend, the trees are picked dry! So my sister and I decided to squeeze in cherry picking right before the holiday this past weekend and boy the trees are already naked! You have to go in the back to find the untouched trees. Pick the dark ones for a sweeter taste. It's $3.50 per pound right now. Must sign a waiver before you pick! DO: bring a picnic blanket and basket of goodies to relax after your harvest! AND allergy meds!

In A Nutshell:-Maggiore Ranch is a definitely a hidden gem amongst all the cherry orchards in Byron/Brentwood.-First time I've been back cherry picking since I was a kid.-Awesome that California had historic rainfalls late 2016/early 2017 bc these cherries are so PLUMP & JUICY.-The customer service was very informative & friendly.-$3.50 /lb.-They provide buckets (a full bucket weighs about 30 lbs).Overall, you'll see many, many options to pick cherries, but if you want reachable, hardly touched trees then come to Maggiore Ranch before it's too late!

It was a freaking MADHOUSE when we came during Memorial Day weekend. But the 3 kids with us (one was mine and two were loaners) had an absolute blast. Hint: find an out-of-the-way corner of the orchard if you want the best cherries with minimal crowding.

This is a huge place, with rows and rows of cherry trees, each bursting with pounds of cherries. The parking lot can look full, but there is an abundance of shiny red cherries. The fruit is at all levels. Even toddlers can reach fruit and put it in the bucket. Big people can also climb ladders to get to the dark sweet ones. We've had good luck at this place the past few years. The downside is that it is extremely popular, so there are lots of like-minded families crowding into the parking lot and queuing up for buckets. It would also be nice if they allowed picnics. If you are looking to spend a morning wandering through an orchard, filling up a bucket of cherries, and getting in some photo ops, this fits the bill.

I'd like to start off by saying that the address listed is wrong. Maggiore is located on Walnut Blvd. between Armstrong Rd. and Eureka Ave. I live less than a mile away from the Cherry Ranch so I know that Balfour Rd. is not where it's at.Anyway, my husband and I went on Thursday to go pick up a few pounds of cherries for me to cook with. We did the whole U-Pick deal. That day, there were two types of cherries we could pick - Coral cherries, identified by the blue band painted on the trunk, which are a crisper, non-sweet cherry and Brooks cherries, identified by a yellow band painted on the trunk, which are softer and very sweet. The trees were heavy with sweet, ripe fruit and the trees are pruned so that the use of a ladder isn't necessary to pick fruit. There are ladders if you're just aching to get the cherries at the top of the tree, but pre-Memorial Day, there's enough fruit to pick at the bottom. My husband and I picked about 6 lbs of cherries in maybe 20 minutes so it's not a long, arduous process to pick fruit. Be prepared to sign a safety waiver saying you know climbing on ladders is inherently dangerous and should you fall to your death, the Ranch is not liable. Oh, and you can bring a drink with you into the cherry orchard so you don't overheat and pass out should you go in the hottest part of the day. Very good product and cheap prices = a cherry ranch worth going back to.

Maggiore has 4 different sites. Just went to the 2251 Camino Diablo Rd location. Excellent Coral and Brook cherries, lots of them in low hanging clusters, and large, can still be found towards the back of the orchard. I picked 11 lbs of cherries just off of 3 trees in no time. They were sweet, juicy, slightly tangy.

Excellent ranch for cherry picking. Very sweet cherries and this was on the way to Brentwood. Usually, there is too much traffic getting into Brentwood. This place in Byron is about 8 miles south and was convenient to get to. Plenty of cherry trees and the parking lot was spacious. Only problem is that this place is cash or check only. So, givinng it 4 stars, given it was inconvenient to drive up to a nearby ATM to withdraw cash for cherry picking (nearby Valero charged $3 for cash withdrawal).
