The absolute best place place for a fancy dinner in Tracy. The place is tucked away in downtown and beautiful inside. Super rustic with exposed brick walls. The owner serves the food himself and truly enjoys what he does.We ordered a few calamari appetizers, Caesar salads, Porterhouse steaks, mustard chicken, and other delicious meals. A party of 11 was no problem and we had plenty of room. It's a little dark in the restaurant but believe me, the food looks amazing and tastes better.

I made reservations but we weren't in the book.My food, all but the salad, was tasteless and lukewarm.We'll stick to the Bistros if we dine in Tracy.

This is our family's favorite celebration spot. We recently visited for my sister's birthday and enjoyed everything as always from the Calamari starter, the delicious Caesar Salads, (which is the best I've had) to all of our entrees. Thomas is a one-man show most of the time as the only server/bartender. This has never negatively affected the quality of service for us. Every course of our meals came out in a timely manner, and it's always nice having great conversations with Thomas. Everything I've tried here is delicious. I personally avoid eating red meat, but you can't go wrong with the Atlantic Salmon, the Mustard Chicken, and the Carbonara Pasta. The food is always very consistent in taste, quality, and the way it's cooked, which is not something you can say about many restaurants. I also enjoy the dimmed lighted ambiance that lends to a romantic, relaxing atmosphere.

Amazing! One of our favorite things to do is to try new places. I can't believe I haven't been here before. We've tried all the spots in Tracy, but I've got to say...this one takes the cake! I took a chance with this place and so glad I did! We wanted to celebrate so My husband and I went here the other night and wow.The food was so good, we had appetizers, Dinner and dessert, it's truly a hidden Gem, our waiter, Guillermo was so on top of it, he took care of the whole dinning area. Both the owner and Guillermo work as a good team, they took care of all the customers, even when it got a little busy, I can't wait to make another special occasion and come back.Restaurant was amazing ambiance and the atmosphere was great, love the lighting.

Magellan's,..is "classy romantic", but comfortable. The atmosphere is perfect with good vibes. We have enjoyed their rack of lamb the New York steak which were delicious and timed perfectly. They have great salads that are always fresh. Magellan's staff are attentive also the people that come to dine have good energy. I recommend the evenings for a cozy dinner.

What to expect: A very small, very dark and very quiet establishment. Good for a casual night out, but offers upscale menu and service while dining. No physical menus provided. Only QR code which made things a little awkward considering only one of us brought our phone. You also have to place your appetizer and entree order all at one time and the kitchen will course out your meal for you. I enjoyed the scallops and mussels for my appetizer, the mussels were my favorite. I also had the Halibut for my main course which I really enjoyed and paired it with a glass of Vinho Verde (Portuguese Wine) I appreciate how the owner had a Portuguese wine selection and Portuguese dessert option. It's a nice touch when you are in the mood for Portuguese cuisine, but want to stay local.

Last minute reservation, What made this so special is the passion of the owner, very friendly and he cares about the quality of the food and service.I ordered the halibut and it was so delicious.

Great food but small portions, I left hungry. They need to add some French bread or something along with the meal to provide a little more value.

Went with my wife on a Friday evening. I've heard about this restaurant for years but it was our first time trying, and we were both really impressed. The ambiance is cozy- the decor is very simple. It was perfect for two, and we saw parties of 4-5, but since the dining room is small, you'd want reservations especially for a larger group. It wasn't too loud. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly. Service was prompt. They have a nice selection of wines by the glass, as well as a full bar for cocktails. The menu I'd describe as a California spin on an Italian bistro, with a lot of seafood options, as well as pastas, steaks, and chops. We shared a crab cake appetizer: it had a spicy kick, and excellent homemade tartar sauce. A simple salad of greens and tomato with shaved Parmesan cheese was fresh and tasty. My wife had scallops with a creamy curry sauce- perfectly cooked, tender, and the sauce was delicious. I had seared duck breast with a cranberry glaze- also very tender and tasty. And we shared an apple pie ala mode, with a homemade pastry crust. Everything was delicious, freshly prepared, and nicely presented, and the prices are really quite reasonable considering the quality. It's nice to have another option for an upscale dinner in Tracy, whether for a date night, family celebration, or entertaining guests.
