Mackey Disc Golf Course

Pros: -Fair placement of baskets and good length -Other players friendly and niceCons:-Trash littered along course including poopy wipes, broken glass, and homeless camp debris -Aggressive dog in not-so-secure looking back yard at end of course 6-Transients sleeping on benches near pitches -Did not feel safe Overall:Could be a great park if it was better maintained and had safety measures in place.

I really enjoy this course. It's a pretty wide open 9 hole course with minimal obstacles. You can get out here and cut loose without worrying about hitting any trees or losing a disc in some overgrowth.You have short holes and some longer holes with varying layouts which encourages you to try out different discs and different shots.The neighborhood isnt too hot and sometimes you will encounter a vagrant hanging out at the park but I haven't been bothered by anyone yet so I don't sweat then too much.If you want to go shoot 9 holes at a good layout and dont care about bells and whistles, Mackey is your spot!

Tried this Disk Golf Course with my husband last summer, not a course I would browse by myself. All start by saying it is in the ghetto. The course was ok. It was a little ran down, there was garbage throughout the course, not much shade and a homeless man hanging out on a bench just starring at us like he had never seen a human, it was odd. As far as challenging that part was good, probly will not go back due to the area.

If you like to get a contact high from all the weed smokers then feel free to go and play. Also punk kids that like to damage property in the area to homes and cars and glad to know there are several residents that surveillance that have systems to curb the further ongoing criminal activity. Also know a resident near the park that animal was hurt by someone throwing fireworks into the yard. But luckily there was video of the 2 subjects caught on video and still images and police report filed.

This was a nice course but in a semi sketchy area. I wouldn't go there by myself, but I felt fine with my boyfriend there. Part of it is right next to the tracks so for a beginner like me, I couldn't do a couple of them since I didn't want to lose my discs. The course is nice and open though which was nice. A good place to go if you want to get a quick game in!

Me and the wife came here today to disc golf for our first time. Went to Big five and got a couple starter disc golf sets and off we went. It was a good course for beginners and the regulars were helpful and friendly. We will definitely come back. It was a lot of fun!

So just went here in august 2023. A lot of the baskets are gone, lots of holes in the ground from the native animals so be careful. Also wanted to note there are a few homeless people living here. Transit rail close to one of the holes so watch your throws on that one.

Course has been recently updated with long tee pads for every hole. Playing the long and short pads makes a very nice 18 hole course. I have never seen it better condition with all weeds mowed down. With that said, I have also never seen so many homeless/vagrants on the course. I wish the city of Sacramento would clean up this park and not let people illegally camp in it!
