Final view
Super close to I-80, could use some trees to buffer.
View from trail
Ends at Solano Community College
Good signage and ample benches along this part.

Biked through half of the park then stopped. This park trail is dirty and empty. It also has no lights, so I would feel like I can't be here after the sunset. I recommend going to American Canyon for the bike trail running parallel to the river. Unless you're a person that is starting at the part of Linear Park that starts near the community College.

Seems like there are two linear parks in Fairfield. One near the highway and the other in a neighborhood in a tiny sliver of land between houses. The Linear Park between houses I admire simply because its so small and they do so much with it. A little walkway and a play structure for kids. There is a larger park just a few blocks away but this one is more convenient for people living nearby. Grass looked to be in good condition. I think it would be great living next to lawn like this that I didn't have to take care of. Street parking only - but there is tons of parking as there are single family houses here only. No pack and stack multi family nonsense.

I had the chance recently to bike the entire Linear Park Bike Trail. It starts on the North side of the freeway, on West Texas Street. On the plus side, the pavement is good and I did not have any trouble biking at all. The main problem with this park, is that it is filled with lost of trash and people sleeping beside the trail. I never felt in danger at any time, but this is definitely not the place for someone at night. At one point, there were a group of people partially blocking the trail. They were not mean people, but it did give me a pause.

This is for the bike trail that cuts through Linear Park. I started about 3 miles from Solano Community College, so I can't speak about the entire trail. The path itself was nice, lots of sticks in some parts, but nothing my commuter bike couldn't handle. The first part was very near the highway though. It's not enjoyable to ride so close with the noise, fumes, litter, etc. I think planting trees here along this section could really help. There were a couple homeless camps in this section. Didn't really bother me that much, but I also noticed there were no lights for the duration of the trail, so I would not recommend this at night. After you turn away from the highway it's very scenic. It follows another road, but the Saturday I did it it wasn't too busy and was a smooth ride. They've made an effort to put benches and signage all along this section, which is appreciated. The final leg of the trail goes to Solano Community College, And is more nature-y and relaxing. All in all, a good ride. I might do it again.
