I tasted my wife's shrimp, it was good. Mine was a salad, highly similar to others in the area.

This used to be my go-to spot and was conveniently close to home, but my recent visit was disappointing. I went in for dinner and was seated immediately. I ordered a beer, but it never came. The guacamole appetizer ($10) was a small portion and tasted okay. Their chips are always hot, and the salsa and bean dip are good.I ordered a Fajita Salad, but what I received was disappointing--tough, flavorless beef on a bed of iceberg lettuce with a few quarters of a sliced tomato & slices avocado. How is this a fajita salad? I expected sliced fajita meat, fajita vegetables, cheese, or something more in line with a proper fajita-style dish.I ordered another beer and noticed I was charged for two. They did correct the bill when I brought it up, but the service overall was not great. I had to flag them down twice, which added to the frustration.Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to the standards I've come to expect from this place.

This review is for Las Casuelas, the first time since it closed as Memos and re-opened under the new name. The decor seemed unchanged (nice, modern for the most part with private booths added.)My wife and I found the food of good quality, with an interesting, flavorful red pepper a part of the shrimp dish my wife had and I tasted. Not at all hot but added a nice flavor to the offering. The meal was standard fare overall, nothing to distinguish it from the three other such Mexican places within a 3/4 mile radius. To be honest a small step down from two of them. The service was OK but not proactive, having to flag down someone to order. In fact both my wife and I noticed one server standing chatting with the solo lady in the next table almost the entire time of our visit. One wonders what his peers thought of the sharing of duties.

Yum yum on the food, drinks and super yum on the chips and salsa. What a beautiful restaurant too with all its decorative touches and lots of seating inside! The restaurant is easy to locate and there is plenty of safe, free and well lit parking. Now when you come inside be prepared to smell all the wonderful and freshly prepared food waiting for you to order it. I hardly waited any time at all until my food came right out of the kitchen while being carried by Ms. Sairel with a beautiful smile. From the moment I walked in, I was directly seated and served chips, salsa and this delicious bean dip. I also indulged and ordered a ruby margarita with a side shot. The margarita was perfectly mixed with this pomegranate and lime flavor that is making my mouth water as I am writing this review. The extra shot was just because who doesn't deserve an occasional side shot during dinner? I ordered the shrimp - mojo de ajo and it was so garlic and buttery, again, my mouth is watering right now.....I don't know why; because I walked away MORE THAN full and grateful for this delicious meal, served by a kind and good human while sitting in a beautiful restaurant listening to some great music. God is good and I have a new place to stop in to have an amazing meal.

I just wanted give a big shout out and thank you to the Modesto location. I reserved the room for 25 people, and 45+ showed up. The waitresses were amazing and the staff who assisted them were as well. I appreciate their hard work and willingness to accommodate our group. Thank you so much!

Great food and drinks! They are always friendly and attentive. We made it just before the rush on a Friday so there was no wait or many people inside. The Friday happy hour special was served in a bowl!

I visited Las Casuelas on June 28, 2024, around 8:30 - 9 PM, craving something spicy. I decided to order the camarones a la diabla and aguachiles. The young woman at the front desk was super friendly and seemed to be in training. She had some questions about the computer and how to input the food order, and a nosy bartender walked over to "help" her but was actually quite rude. It made me very uncomfortable. When I asked the bartender if they could make my two items very spicy, he responded rudely, "The aguachiles are already premade, so no, we cannot. The camarones a la diabla we can make a little spicy." His tone was unfriendly and not accommodating to customers at all. I ended up paying $43 for my two items, but I wish I hadn't bought anything at all. When I began eating my food, I was very disappointed. The aguachiles were a sad excuse for aguachiles, with very little shrimp, and the vegetables and jalapeños were cut awkwardly. The camarones a la diabla were also not appetizing--way too salty and not spicy at all. I feel bad for the young girl, and I will not be going back to this place nor will I recommend it to others.

If they change some things, like the price of "add ons" (cilantro and onions?!) of what SHOULD be included, and not gouge customers when their prices are high for what you get, I would consider going back. I love the decor and service was friendly.

Each of us at the table had issues with the our meals. Chicken burritos bland, kids barely ate it. (I had to taste it) Steak and pork tacos sent back to the kitchen because they tasted like it's been sitting in the refrigerator too long. Also the tacos were barely warm. Didn't reorder anything. Not coming back.

Walked In Around 6/6:15 on a Saturday night, expected there to be a wait since we walked in at the same time as a few other groups. Party of 4 we only waited for 5 minutes. Once we were sat we were greeted with chips and salsa right away and asked for our drink order. Another server, (I wish I remembered her name, but she had a big pink bow in her hair) came to take our order. She was great, I asked for a couple of side options for my 9 month old that she brought quickly. Our dinners were all delicious I got the Beef Molcajete & a classic margarita, my older daughter a wet super burrito and my husband tacos. Eating out with kids can be stressful but we will be back here thanks to the quick and kind service & great food!
