We stopped to eat a sandwich and stretch our legs on a road trip. It was a great stop. The bathrooms were clean, the water was lovely to watch and listen to during lunch.A pretty cool kid area. There is a small boat ramp and a campground right here. Hands down the best part of this park are the peacocks!! Peacocks everywhere!

I had no idea this place existed until I finally went. It's so close to home since it's only 15 minutes away from me. They have a Campground on one side and across is the Day Use area. The area is so peaceful and grounding. Lots of beautiful peacocks roaming the lake the area. Tons of duck families near the Lake. You'll also come across cute Quail families walking in a bunch. Lots of bathrooms in the campground and day use. The rangers are nice and staff is nice. There is only a handful of them so I understand They do the best they can to keep it clean and safe. Some parts may seem run down or need attention, but it's still a place to relax and soak in the sun and nature. FYI- Pay for Parking at office or in Payment Box at Day Use. Fishing is only Catch & Release

Very quiet campground. We got a site right next to the water with water and electric, lots of water birds to watch. There are peacocks that strut through your campsite and are truly beautiful. This campground is near Winters, so you can pick up groceries or dinner. The staff is super friendly. Only downside would be traffic noise across the lake (highway 128) would stay again, though.

I have been going here since the early 80's. I buried my mom's ashes in site 37. I was disappointed this last week when I went there. Things don't seem as guest friendly, even though the staff was pleasant and nice. There is no overflow parking anymore so I had to spend $50 extra just to park an additional car. Otherwise, I would have had to drive the car into the local town of winters and park it in some random spot, not knowing if it would get towed (the staffs advice). The shower water the first night was only extremely hot. I had to take a shower by water bottle because the water was only coming out on extreme hot. I get it, we had a heat wave but it is what it is. The day use has only volleyball fields for fun and they are pretty over grown. The net is in good condition though. I had about 6 kids with me and they were bummed that the nature center is only open on the weekends. During this heat wave, the stay inside a cool place would have been a welcome retreat. I did get to feel the very cold air when they opened the door to tell me they are not open. The water fountain would have been great for my kids because the water in the day use was only coming out hot. Made me feel like they are the rich people looking down on us poor people, like we were peasants. Again, they were not rude. They were nice but man, only open on weekends????? Maybe I should only come on weekends. It will be a long time before I come back, only because my mom is there will I return for that reason.

This campground is amazing. Spots are also beautiful! That creek is the best to float in this summer heat. I've been camping here with my family since I was a child, now I come here every year with my wife and family! The last two years we have been harassed by the camp host Fred. Friday afternoon when we arrived and are unpacking a sheriff and Fred approached me with some confusion about a campsite my family friend booked who couldn't show because of a family emergency, I show them the reservation email for his site and Fred was not happy. He starts asking weird question about how I know this person and if I'm sure "he's a friend" because his last name is Hispanic. Fred was not happy that we still used that campsite even though we had the confirmation with us in hand. (mind you our family friend had called Lake Solano a week prior to try to refund his site but it's a two week minimum cancellation so he couldn't, so he sent us the reservation and told us to use it.) I'm not sure if Fred is profiling my family because when my wife and I camp here alone(white female and male) we never get harassed or bothered like we do when my (darker complexion) brother and cousins are around. Fred informed us we need to go back up to the front and try to fix all the confusion. So I drove back up to the front and showed them all the site receipts (4 total sites, including mine) and who they belong to because they just cant seem to get organized themselves. Following that, Fred constantly walked his dog by our sites staring over never waving back. At this point we all felt uncomfortable, we just wanted to enjoy our camping trip in our favorite camping spot without being judged. The park rangers always seem to change the "rules" to fit their agenda. The last couple years we were able to park in the overflow parking after checkout on Sunday and paddle board the creek, we live 30 minutes away so we typically enjoy our last Sunday in the sun instead of driving home because we're so close! My mother came up to enjoy paddle boarding with us on Sunday to be told by the front that we were not there anymore so they couldn't drive in and stay, they drove in just to make the loop to the exit and found us on their way to the exit. They were followed by the ranger and we were informed we need to leave the campground all together unless we pay for another night, mind you guest who have not been staying at the campground have been coming and going all weekend including Sunday parking cars in overflow. I'm so disappointed by this visit, our peaceful lake Solano trip was turned into constant harassment. If you have POC in your family or friend group do not bring them here, they will be harassed and profiled. Do better Lake Solano, maybe get rid of what most of your bad reviews are about. Fred.

this is that perfect campsite for when you want to get away for the weekend. They have canoe and kayak rentals across the street which are reasonable and a good activity. Make sure you select your spot with some thinking going into it. there are definitely two or three different crowds here at all times depending on where you are in the park .

Had a great few nights at the campground. Site near lake and bathroom. Just be ready for a few things: 1. only 2 cars per site. I wish there was a place for a 3rd car for day use. Our son was visiting as a 3rd car and planned to head home at 8P. Day use is only open till 7p. We ended up having to pay for another site just so he wouldn't have to rush out at 7p. 2. Water pressure in bathroom nearly non existent. Be ready to use sanitizer after you wash hands with soap and water. 3. Lots of rules and lots of policing. Rangers very nice but circled around frequently making us feel like we could be breaking a rule. 4. Highway noise. While site was beautiful and had quiet feeling, there was constant noise from hwy 128. We were just fine with this but wanted others to be aware. I still give rating of 5 stars because my comments above are just to tell everyone what to expect. We mostly hiked around and went in water with kayak and had a great time.

Rangers are incredibly rude and refused to rent me a camp cite because I wanted to take pictures while I was there. I would not recommend wasting your time here.

Rangers are rude, camp host has short mans syndrome. Dirty, the people they have cleaning the place look like tweakers. People are right to say this place needs a clean sweep.
