First time back in 15 years! I feel a lot better that they regulate the capacity in the day use areas, that way there's no over crowding. It's REALLY NICE!! However for people that don't know about the max capacity rule.. If your having a day trip on the weekends you need to arrive no later than 8am to set up and have all the members of your party come at the same time, otherwise the stragglers will not be let in if they're at their max capacity. PLAN AHEAD!!

If I could give zero stars I would!! Drove up to be with family and to my disappointment the lake was closed for day use due to being at capacity. The gentleman at the top of the hill was nice enough to allow me in but the lady at the main gate denied my son and I. She didn't care that family already had a spot nor that the other man had allowed us through. She even asked me to drive back up so I could tell him to radio her that he allowed us. When asked if she could use her radio to communicate that she said no. She was rude and not helpful at all!!! When I went back up she told the man I was denied and not to go back down.I went on the website and couldn't find anything that stated that the lake had a capacity limit or the possibility of closures. Have been coming here for years and have never experienced such ugly service until now. Management needs to do better about making it known that the lake can be closed. Place something on your website!! As for the entry gate staff, work on your customer service. If you hate your job it's shows and it's not a good look for the employer you represent.Lake Camanche do better!!!

Amazing and clear water, love it for the dogs, the dog park is amazing and makes camping so much more fun.Great staff all around. Store is always stocked and prices are reasonable. The water is super warm, which makes it feel tropical, we also love that you can see the bottom in the day use area.

This is the place to go!! We are here every weekend with the family in the summer even if it's just a day out in the lake or camping on a 3 day weekend. I've never (knock on wood) came across any rattle snakes but we do camp here in July & September mostly. But bathrooms are always cleaned & the staff is always friendly.

This is a tough one! Maybe it was overpopulated not sure the issue. The bathrooms were always a mess, out of toilet paper, seat covers, working lights and showers. The power went out multiple times and the showers has no pressure. Is this really what camping is all about? The North shore offers free showers, laundry services, a playground, basketball court, a nice shore, group camp sites, ice cream parlor, and boat rentals. We came with 35 + people not including the kids. It was a good time besides the 100°+ weather. Breezy at night and a chill morning. Waking up at 6 to the sunrise, the smell of fresh air and smores at night. I can say we made the most of our trip!

Our 5th yr being at Lake Camanche from the South and North shores. My family and I always appreciate the attention we get from the staff. Reservation staff Alex, Taj and Kevin. House keeping Pam and Kelly. Kiosk Elizabeth and Marisa. Thank you all for making our stay a memorable one. This four day stay we had all of our adult children and grandchildren with us. Twelve in all.

We decided to go camping over the holiday weekend. That was the best decision ever. Besides it being triple digits the entire stay, I'm talking 105-114.I think we chose the correct spot to camp, for the most part they kept the bathrooms clean, There was toilet paper every time but once... our bathroom only had two working stalls that was the biggest negative. All things considered it could've been a lot worse. Our campgrounds grounds were nice in proximity to everything. I really enjoyed the vibe of our camp sites we were in arrowhead on the south shore. We didn't get an opportunity to watch the movies, but I thought that was a nice touch. The check in process was slow and grueling, not sure why it took so long but it took about 30 mins.

We've been camping and boating here for years. We've noticed a change in staff and not everyone is a friendly as they used to be. The water level is higher than it has been over the past few years. The marina store used to be better stocked with camping and boating supplies, which was helpful if you forgot something. The grounds are kept tidy and it is safe and fun for families. Be sure you have your updated Quagga sticker on your boat .reservations are highly recommended for holiday weekends as the sites book up quickly. Day use gets full but boaters can still usually come in for day use even if they are at capacity for cars.
