So my nephew booked us a three day full hook up spot. Let me explain where these spots are located, in an area where people live. Kind of weird right? It ended up working out. The nearby waters were filthy with debris. A lot of dilapidated decks just rotting away into the waterway. Literally under water and very dangerous. I even saw a raft tied up to the dock. I'm only knew it was a raft because I saw it underwater. Seems like no one takes care of their areas. Sad because she have water front property. The staff was pretty nice. The fishing was HORRIBLE!!!! I went with the idea that I would catch some trout because of all the IG videos they post but I was pretty disappointed. All the people on the docks, banks and in boats were NOT catching any trout. This could be because the water was warm and the trout were deep. Even then the dock area was 60+ feet deep. We should have caught one trout with 8 poles out right?I did catch a couple of small blue gill. Nothing to brag about. I go fishing to eat not for the sport. Their swim pond area was decent. They have a dock you can jump off of and a water slide. The kids loved it. I did see a doe. That was cool. Did I mention they charge you $7 bucks to fish? You still need a fishing license plus their fee. I paid $28 bucks for no fish. In the end would I return? Probably not. This was a one and done for me.

This place is a joke! As much fish as they say they stock you would expect at least a bite. We know what we're doing when it comes to fishing. We have been here 5 times and nothing. Everyone we talked to that were fishing caught nothing. On shore or on boats. How can nobody catch 1 fish all day? Save your money and try somewhere else!

Pay to park. Pay to hand launch a kayak and... Wait for it... $7 per person to fish on a weekday? You are going to charge me extra based upon what I do there? What next, charge me if I eat my packed lunch?Fishing is only good right after they stock. Otherwise you risk getting skunked for $30.

I enjoyed my trip here. Great fishing. Kids caught a ton of blue gill. They stock lightning and rainbow trout. Nice place and campsites look like they're nicely located.

It's been 15 years since I visited here. Decided to go check out the fishing for a few hours. Trying to find your way around is a nightmare and the hole filled dirt road will ruin your car. Not at all what a "resort" is..... all in all it's not at all what it used to be. Camping spots were weird and some were super small. This used to be a great fishing/camping place..... sad.Did see a lot of deer though.

A little hard to access the water from anywhere else but the boat ramp, but it looks amazing. Can't wait to actually camp here.

It's true that the fish they stock are only around a few days after they stock them into the lake. Spent 6 hours two of us with 2 rods each without a bite. Watched all the fisherman in boats and on the banks the whole 6 hours and saw one fish caught. Drove around and asked all the fisherman there "Any Luck" and many were not happy. Guys in the boats were the most unhappy as they stated they fish there a lot and were also skunked. Called and asked about when the lake was last planted and the lady stated what they put on the brochure "we plant 50,000lbs between Oct and May". Told her we spent all day there and saw one fish caught. She stated she saw 15 fish that day and one 11lb'r. Thing is that I never told her what day we fished there. Liars who take your money knowing there's very few stockers that you pay good money to catch left after a few days.

Had never gone fishing at Lake Amador. We spent $130.00 to rent a boat plus this included all the other cost to fish. We get in the boat and there's no anchors. We called up front to ask where are the anchors and was told they do not supply anchors because people steal them. You mean to tell me you are charging me total of $130.00 to float all day? They said sorry you feel that way. I will never go back to that lake. If you want to go fishing and not float all day after paying top dollar to fish, I suggest going to lake pardee or lake Comanche it's cheaper and you get an anchor.
