Food is always delicious. 85 characters or more. Partly cloudy with chance of rain. LeBron James is a Mamby Pamby cry baby.

OMG.... The Tamales. Perfection. Just the right ratio of masa to meat. I happily drive from Manteca to purchase these Tamales.

So there is nothing like getting some scrumptious tamales from La Victoria on a Sunday with football on the agenda and you didn't even have to fight the church crowd to get them! My friend brought them over and I forgot how good they are. They were always my Mom's favorite :) They are always freshly made, good size, and very tasty! On the other hand this is not the best location in Stockton for foodies resisting going into "that part of town". Let's face it, there is a bit of hesitation in terms of where you need to park, how long to get in and get out before you start thinking about checking your surroundings. Just saying that things can happen pretty fast in Stockton. That being said, this is like a risk/reward situation and if you are comfortable in your own skin and don't mind taking a bit of a risk to get some quality tamales then this is a can't miss location.I mean, what's the alternative here...buy your own masa and fold your own hojas after simmering some pork and then what? I really don't know but I know it's labor intensive and takes a lot of hands that know what they are doing before you can indulge in this nutritious and filling iconic mexican treat.I love Stockton and the food scene here but please be safe in this part of town!

Delicious tamales. Call in advance. Nice selection of pastries. Ladies working there were friendly. Wish I would have gotten 2 churros and not one!

What's not to like? Great tamales, carnitas, and chicharones, tight quarters and bad parking are the only downfall really, oh and don't forget the bakery good stuff

I've been coming to La Victoria since I was a young child. My husband and I live in Las Vegas however, every time we're in Stockton, we always stop by and grab something. It could be drinks, clothing, decor, kitchen supplies and food, of course! My husband, who is native to Stockton as well, would come as a young child with his grandpa. We talk about La Victoria to our friends back home in Vegas and tell them how everything about the store is amazing, from the food to the family running the business. The store has deep roots for both our families. You'll have nice conversation in store with the mom and daughters, who remember their customers; and the atmosphere is truly unique and inviting. A lot of love goes into their food and relationships that are appreciated for generations.

Okay so I'm bias because I grew up coming here and I love it. Wanted to post the menu since it wasn't available here on Yelp.

Constructive criticism-i'm not from this area. I was in need of fresh masa for tamales. Searched online and found this place. Looked ok so drove over Stood in line for a good 20 mins. Asked the people in line if this was a good place. They all said yes. Ok went in bought my masa. When the girl brought me the bags, masa was all over them and her hand were full of masa, no glove. She must of used her hand to fill the bags. I hope her hands were clean. Then I get home dump the masa in the bowl and a hair was in the masa. Not like just on top it was mixed in. Not sure I'll go back.

I called a day before to place an order for a strawberry tres leche cake and 48 tamales. They only gave me 24 tamales which were rushed, the tamales were dry and falling apart and the chicken had a very bad taste and smell to them. The cake was also rushed, for a tres leche cake it was extremely dry and barely any strawberries on it. Im very disappointed with this place. I work for a hospital and chose this place to give my business to but it's clear they're not very organized and can't handle medium to large orders. Don't waste your money here.
