La Tapatia Market

It's been a while since I've come here. Warning, the parking lot situation is a disaster so save yourself the stress and park on the side streets. My mom usually comes here for their grilled chicken. Idk what they add to it but it has really great flavor and hubby really liked it when he tried it at my mom's house. It was hubby's first time to this store. Unfortunately they were out of the grilled chicken, and out of all of their prepared meats. We stopped after 7pm which was kinda late. I asked the lady around what time do they usually run out of the chicken and she wasn't able to tell me. The store was really packed though with people. It's small and cramped, and didnt entice us to want to stay. Getting out of the parking lot was a mess. I just couldn't and hubby had to get us out bc I couldn't and def would've hit someone.

The food and pan dulce here are delicious. The tamales are especially good, although the last two times I bought them, they smelled like they were about to go bad. It is always crowded inside and it's a small space, which makes it difficult to get your stuff. Parking is also difficult. There's a tiny parking lot in the back.

Great food but it sells out quick so my advice is to get here early if you want to be sure they will have what you want. I wanted beef taco durados but by the time I got there at 3:45pm they were all gone. I got a potato taco and two chicken rolled tacos instead. Excellent food and it hit the spot! Parking is horrible, likely you will want to park on the street and walk in rather than in their extremely small and packed parking lot. I love the burrito with buche and cueritos rice and beans with onion/cilantro... awesome

This place used to be 5 stars for me simply for their homemade fresh croissants and strawberry croissants and tamales but they have changed the recipes! The croissants used to be huge, light and flaky is what they and now they are small, heavy and dense. It seems like the same dough as the empanadas. The tamales are no longer the same either, small and has a lot of fat in the pork. Not for me.

Favorite Store for bread and meats. Long line but very worth it and employees always have a smile on their face.

Best chicharron prensado ever!! (Amoungst great delicious and authentic foods) really good hot bar as well. I live in San Jose and I'm constantly heading over to SSF to pick up a few pounds. PLEASE OPEN ANOTHER STORE IN SAN JOSE

Very rude workers and look at you like you don't speak Spanish. Always make burritos super small rice burrito I order Chile verde with no onions and didn't get sour cream got nothing i asked for

This place fell off, it used to be me go to for carne asada preparada. I recently went in for 3lbs. They must be marinating there carne asada in salt now. The asada was salty AF!

Called the store at 7:55 and they still "had" cooked beans got here at 8:03 and they "ran" out drove all the way from March lane.
