Out in Stockton for a sports event. Check in was easy, the young lady at the front desk was very kind and respectful helping me with check in, also with changing the first room I had because when I got in the room it smelt like marijuana. i was given another room right away, and although this room didn't smell like marijuana, I would say it didn't feel that clean. The rooms are "remodeled" but from the looks of it they did a horrible job. My shower had bad cracks in it, the base molding in some parts of the room looked like it was just pained over but was chipping bad. My fridge didn't work so I had to grab some ice from the ice machine in a plastic bag to keep beverages cold. The Continental breakfast provided from 6am-9am was ok. I say ok, because we had to keep waiting for the kitchen staff to re-fill the eggs of sausages as they were going quite fast. I don't believe I will stay here again unless I absolutely have no choice.

I'm only giving this hotel 1 star because Wesley at the front desk was kind. After a 6 hour drive we were tired and hungry. We pulled up to the property to discover it looked sketchy and unsafe. There's cars in the parking lot that look abandoned or like they're being utilized for housing. We were highly concerned our vehicle would get broken into. The grounds, pool, and rooms are filthy. Rooms smelled like smoke, tub had dirt stains and black marks all over it. Towels looked thin and scratchy. The elevator sounds unsafe and concerning. This hotel looks nothing like the photos. We checked in and checked out within 20 minutes. DO NOT STAY HERE! We immediately booked a room at University Plaza Waterfront Hotel. We paid more to stay somewhere that felt safe, was clean, and gave us peace of mind. I've never seen a La Quinta so deplorable.

Went to stay here for business, but I had to leave the next day and change hotels.I've heard and researched that Stockton isn't the safest, especially for solo travelers. However, during the time of my booking, there were no other hotels aside from this one. It's easy enough to get to the location. The front desk is in the same room as where they held the breakfast.Upon checking in, the front desk was really nice and informed me that currently, the hotel is undergoing renovations, so he apologized in advance if there was noise. After I got my keys, I moved my car from the front to the side nearest to my room. The moment I entered the room, I was surprised I was in 2 queens when I booked 1 king. After i was laying iut my stuff, I saw some moldy towels in the bathroom some moldy towels by the bathtub, folded. Then the bath towels for me to use on a shelf on top of the toilet, which was dusty. The body wash was on the tub because the attachment to the wall was broken. There was no soap lying around either.I called the front desk and informed what I saw. He was embarrassed and quickly went to my room. HOWEVER, as soon as I opened the door, I noticed something crawling. Taking a step back, something was on the top of my door. It's a bug I've never seen before. It's not a roach nor a grasshopper. Not even a beetle of a june bug. Anyway, I left my door open a little since the bug was trying to crawl out, but it stayed on top. I quickly bolted to go outside until the clerk came and told him about the bug. He went to get a tissue and flicked it away. To where? I HAVE NO IDEA. Then suddenly, someone came to my door to check if everything was okay. I don't know if it was a guest or just some random person. But, thankfully, I wasn't alone in the room. There was an option to move rooms but it'll be closer to the construction so I declined and stayed in my room. I went out afterwards and as I was turning to exit the premises, someone was being arrested in front of the hotel. When I came back I sprayed and clean the room and beds. At night as I was about to rinse, spiders crawled out of the bath tub drained. Then throughout the night my door handle was turning. I don't know if it's someone who's drunk but for it to repeat multiple times was alarming. I barely slept and reached out to my company to change my lodgings. Thankfully, they did. It was far but I didn't mind. I wouldn't put a price on my safety. The next day, the front desk told me the cops in the area was normal but the situation in my room and that door handle was too much. They didn't charged me for the next day even if I was minutes after check out time which was nice.I've stayed at La Quinta at other cities but this was by far the worst. I will not be coming back to this location.

This LaQuinta inn is a dump. The homeless have a camp on the side next to it. The yard and the parking lot are filthy. Dog poop is all over. When I was there they decided to remodel the lobby. So there was no breakfast as advertised. Instead they had a bag with a yogurt, a muffin, and a hard boiled egg with a piece of fruit. You could get coffee. But it was not a real breakfast. They never gave a discount for the inconvenience. It cost 689.00 a week. For nothing.

The hotel is horrible. The room it's self was nice. The outside of the hotel is ghetto as hell. I requested an handicapped room on the first floor because I just had hip surgery. Didn't accommodate me. I was not told about the room deposit until I looked at bank account 2 days later. The room had 2 spiders and 3 bed bugs. I told the front desk and they didn't care. No refund or an apology. Never staying there again. I checked in at 7 p.m I was gone by 11p.mIf I would have read the review I would've never booked a room

My room was nice. Bed were comfortable. I stayed one night. I am not a fan of the conjoining room on the other side of the building. I could hear the man cough. That is my only bad part about this hotel. Even though there was a lot of construction going on.

One star because 0 was not an option. The carpet was filthy and wet. The bathroom was unsanitary, to say the least. We have stayed in Motel 6's that are better than this. The breakfast was practically empty at 8 AM. When it goes to 9 AM. There was nothing left but a few yogurts and a solo muffin on a tattered table. None of the tables were clean. A do it yourself, waffle machine that was dirty. When we went to check in, the receptionist was being extremely rude to 2 people who are trying to check in themselves. But apparently their card was not clearing. The card reader was not working and she seemed to be blaming them. very unprofessional. After the stay, we found ourselves. Wishing that we had not prepaid because then we would have been able to leave before the disaster as well.

I have stayed at the La Quinta in Stockton many times, but this time there were three problems with the room. #1) I called AND texted the office regarding non-working tv remote. No one responded to solve problem, so I could not watch TV for two nights. #2) The refrigerator was plugged into the outlet that was controlled by the light switch by the front door. When you turned off the lights, the fridge also went off. I figured it out and had to move the fridge and plugged to a different outlet. #3) There is a major tripping hazard on the floor between the bathroom and bedroom. (See photo.) There's a strip of wood on the floor 1/2" tall. I tripped on it twice within 10 mins and hurt my toe. Someone especially an older person could fall and seriously get hurt. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen. All these little problems are why my friends never want to stay with me at LA Quinta. We now use Choice Hotels whenever possible. It's nice that they finally are renovating their outdated rooms, but with continued problems, it's not worth it.

I stayed in room 305 in the third floor for two nights 1/3/25 - 1/4/25. There was no ice bucket, just a plastic bag. So I used my insulated bag for ice. upon leaving the room, the door deadlock prevented me from closing the door. I had to manipulate use the inside handle each time I closed the door. There was no ice on 3rd floor, no ice on 2nd floor, finally the 1st floor had ice.The tv remoted could barely change the channels. I could not put the plastic coffee tray that holds coffee on the coffee. The next day, I was out until 8 pm. I took a shower and went to blow dry my hair. It didn't work. I turned on the tv and flashing in the middle to the tv, say I need to go into settings and put a password in. The I want to call the lobby and the phone didn't work. The housekeeper through away the coffee tray so I could not make coffee. There wasn't a do not disturb sign to hand on the door. When I made my request know, they offered to change rooms. I was in the pajamas and I would have a pack up, get dressed and was leaving the next day. So I decided to just go to sleep.Do not stay here. There is a homeless camp, cigarettes on window ceils, people with loud music blaring, pool was extremely dirty, walls are paper thin.

Quiet room, small . Room could use some painting. Chair with stains. Beds were comfortable. Right before going to sleep (12:30am) a cockroach went running across the night stand! My granddaughter flipped out. I won't be stopping here again. We did let them know the next morning and they said they would let housekeeping know. This was our 5th stop on the Whyndham's on our trip and the dirtiest.
