I'm new to the area and needed a good meat market. I found this one while searching online for one. Of course, Rancho San Miguel is around the corner but wasn't crazed about our last meat pick. This is a small corner meat market. They have their fresh meet towards the back of the store with different selections. I ordered the diezmillo prepared which they marinated it for me there. It was so good. My guest loved it. It was very flavorful and tasted fresh. I found my new meat market!

So I will give this place five stars because the Carnitas were really really good. You have to show up to this place really early in the morning because they sell out really fast. On the weekends they open up at 5 AM. I got there around 6:15 AM. There was already people being serviced and about two or three people in line. They have corn, pork, and chicken tamales. I would have to agree with a review that I read on here prior , that the tamales have a lot of masa and not enough meat. I would say the ratio of masa to meat is like 3 to 1. So I will probably not order tamales again. Also they have Menudo ready to go. The Menudo was just OK , nothing special. I noticed there was no hominy at all. The broth was actually good but the pieces of Menudo were cut in weird large pieces. I would probably rate it 5 out of 10 . I also would not buy the Menudo again . Now the Carnitas on the other hand I will have to say I would give them a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10. Very delicious moist and flavorful cannot go wrong. I will definitely be back to buy more Carnitas.

Came in today and bought some meat for a potluck I was having at work. Everyone loved the carne asada and they kept asking where I got them from. The workers there are friendly and inviting. Only thing I didn't like was that they advertised carnitas, but come to find out they only have them on Saturday's and Sunday's.

Menudo is awesome, they don't put much harmony so it's perfect for those that just want meat. Tamales are moist, the chicken one is spicy but good!

Every Sunday they have the best birria (beef or goat). Portions are well served. They also have tamales. Aside from the food the meat is fresh and fairly price. One thing I don't get about Mexican businesses is that they seem to charge extra for using a credit card.

Bought some Al pastor and carne asada for a birthday party. Meats were seasoned well and the Al pastor was the star of the show. Kept getting asked where I purchased the meat from, will totally recommend.

Small store but the Tamales I got were one of the best ones I have had ! They are stuffed with meat. I would have to try their menudo one of this days

Use to be best Tamales in Lodi, but lately have been getting all masa and no meat Tamales. They cost $1,99 each which is very pricey and you would think that quality would matter. I normally don't post negative reviews but hopefully it will get them to improve there product.
