La Casa Modesto, Ascend Hotel Collection

The most ghetto Ascend Collection Hotel PERIOD. Choice hotels please help this place or change it to a Motel 8. First, What used to be the front entrance/drive though was demolished and nothing was ever rebuilt. It's just fenced off from the rest of the property. The actual check in is in a hallway through the side of one of the buildings. Second, the breakfast.... OK there is food available but they've coverted 4 guest rooms into a seating area and buffet line. Free is free is guess. Third, the amenities are awful. The pool and jacuzzi has a closed due to repairs sign but kids are swimming in murky waters and the jacuzzi is ice cold and not functioning. Trash everywhere, beer cans and food containers laying around. Gym had some machines... broken machines... nothing turned on. Fourth, the overall history. You can still see the courtyard marriott sign in front and on the buildings... just covered by another sign. One part of the hotel says Modesto Hotel, the other La Casa Modesto. The third is residential/long term residents.... the phones say modesto hotel but also Ramada... assuming it went from Marriott to Wyndham to a Boutique and now Choice Hotels. Fifth, the rooms. Overall decent. They're modern but meed a makeover. Dirty carpets, chairs, stain on sheets, lights not working, cracked countertops, broken blinds... the pictures online are FALSE ADVERTISEMENT . Sixth, the extended stay or long term residents.... they have kids running around at all hours, dogs roaming the hallways and barking. Just not a good look for a hotel. There's so much wrong with this place...

I'd leave zero stars if I could. I found this on the hotels app and it was close to the hospital so we booked as the photos online looks decent. This stay was horrible and we were overcharged what was advertised! Hotels showed $108 after tax and I was charged $187.59. I will be filing a claim with the BBB. On another note, everything was dirty/stained. The rooms smelled of mildew. There was no caulking around our bathtub (which btw we had to *upgrade* to get a bathtub) standard rooms only have showers and I needed a tub for my toddler. We checked out the pool/fitness room and literally found a broken crack pipe Not only that, upon packing to leave we found bed bugs and I'm mortified we slept there!!! Please please please pay the extra $20 and stay somewhere clean, THIS IS NOT IT! Health code violations left and right.

Comes as up as Modesto inn or Modesto hotel if this is the same facility since address matches it was a terrible stay. Someone took a shit a literal poop in the hall way and the smell lingering through the hallway was beyond disgusting. Two lashes and hair on the pillow cases also with the group we stayed clearly the rooms were not clean or checked for that matter. The pool in the summer time was not working could not use. The shower had no shower pressure could not even take a proper shower. The manger and staff took little disregard to our concerns and did not offer a discount or any kind of anything really. Will not stay there again and the area not the best especially if you have small children. Not the best side of town. Not from the area just basing on our experience. Very disappointing when you get disregarded when you bring up a concern not away to keep someone's business.

Rooms are ok. Here running water all night long so of course you get up through out the night to make sure your room is not flooding. Our first night we were in our handicap room and the refrigerator wasn't working so instead of them replacing it they had us move to another room. Needless to say the refrigerator is quite small. Wife and I both agree we won't be staying at this location again

The sheets had blood on them and they refused to let us change rooms so we couldn't sleep inside the sheets and left after one night, shower was moldy, and they put $25 of the room security deposit through. I will be filing a dispute with my card company. We heard that this hotel commonly puts through false charges, so we were super vigilant, and sure enough that happened to us. We were going to stay a few nights, but luckily we only booked one through Priceline to scope it out, and we left after the first night. Terrible stay
