Kumon Math and Reading Center of Lodi

My son joined Kumon's Math and Reading program last summer. Kumon has prepared him well to start Kindergarten. He has been able to easily do the math lessons at school. He was reading a few words at the beginning of the summer and a few months later he was reading a whole children's book by himself. Mrs. Hsieh and all the staff at the center are really nice and helpful. Sometimes it was hard to keep my son motivated to do his Kumon homework every day but Mrs. Hsieh was understanding and reduced the number of pages in his homework. That was a big help. :)I'm very happy with my sons progress at this center and have referred a few friends.

Ms Hsieh is professional and courteous with parents. She's patient with children and it's a very comfortable environment for my kids. They never felt pressured or intimidated.

My 6 year old daughter has shown an early interest in mathematics. She has been number crunching at Stockton Montessori (preschool) since she was 4 years old. When she entered Kindergarten, the level of mathematics that was given to the students made her bored. She was doing the same things that she had done as a 3 year old and wasn't learning anything new. I started to see her enthusiasm for math dwindle at an alarming speed. Prior to enrolling my child in Kumon, I supplemented my child with first grade workbooks bought from the local Parent-Teacher supply store and Amazon. She completed the books fairly quickly and I was left trying to guess what our next path would be.Instead of letting my child's spark for learning burn out, I decided to try out Kumon so that she could learn new concepts (and math tricks). I also wanted her to be surrounded by motivated, hardworking older kids -totally different from our home learning environment.I read on the internet that most children either have a love or hate relationship with Kumon. Surprisingly, my daughter is excited to go to Kumon Lodi and likes doing their worksheets. Mrs. Hsieh is an amazing educator. I was taken aback by how amiable and patient she is with all the children under her wing. The guides/tutors that are employed at this center are also very kind and approachable. I feel 100% confident that I made the right choice to enroll my child at this particular center.[I cannot sing the same praises for Stockton Kumon. We did not even get past the inquiry process because the female owner seemed highly irritated answering the first question I asked: What days are the center open?]

I enrolled my daughter in Kumon because she was not doing well in her math class at Lodi High. Kumon did a fabulous job with her tutoring and taught her everything she needed to know to pass her exams at Lodi High School. She was able to pull her math grade up to a B. It was definitely money well spent. At first my daughter was not happy she had to attend, but was very grateful she did because it helped her not only in her class studies, but also to improve her SAT scores. I highly recommend Kumon.

We drive a long way to this center after hearing recommendation from our friends. My kids are much happier with this Kumon center. When my kids have trouble with their work, Mrs. Hsieh is always willing to give them additional lessons. Of course, the candy bars that she hands out during class helps, too!
