A great spot for kayaking. A was a first timer. We called to make reservations. Was told they filled up quickly. We went at 10am on a Thursday. We were the only ones there, which was nice. Melissa helped us launch and gave us pointers. Clean bathrooms, parking across the street. Will come again.

My boyfriend and I both had no kayaking experience prior to renting a tandem kayak for two hours from Suzie. We started first thing in the morning at 10am, so we were able to enjoy the Delta breeze before the heat of the afternoon arrived. Prior to arriving, we made a reservation online: we requested the time and date we wanted to kayak two days prior to our actual date, put a $25 deposit down, and also noted that we wanted to pick blackberries (the website says blackberries are in season from now 'til end of August-ish).Upon arrival, we turned into the wrong area -- look for the tiki-looking hit floating next to the Lighthouse Bar & Grill! We caught onto the mechanics of kayaking fairly quick for absolute beginners -- the still waters in the route she gave us did help -- and spent a lot of time maneuvering to get the kayak close enough to the blackberry vines. To protect your hands further, bring gloves. Suzie gave us a drawn map of where to kayak for the blackberries and, if we had enough time aside from picking, to kayak to a private beach area of some sort. We didn't have enough time, but I'd highly consider renting for 3 hours instead for more time to enjoy the Delta, pick, and make it to the beach and back. You can also bring a sandwich or lunch if you make it to the beach area or take a break in the more still waters, just pack it in a waterproof container. Suzie was sweet and very helpful for us newbies -- we also called her when we made a wrong turn to clarify that we were in the right area. Will happily come back again to rent from Suzie!

We had a great 2 hours just paddling up and down the nearby waterways - I'm not a crazed birder, but it was fun to see egrets, herons plus the occasional turtle and an eclectic collection of moored boats. The occassional rusting hulk of some bygone dredge (or whatever) adds an air of mystery as to "why on earth is that there...?". There were a fair number of fisherfolk out and about casting from the banks and docks and boats. Melissa provided a relaxed checkin and was very helpful. The rental gear was all in good condition. Reservation is a little different - in that you call to check there are boats and then you book on line. The name seems interchangeable Kokopelli or Delta Kayak rentals. Also finding the area to check-in isn't super clear, but there is only really the one place where kayaks were sitting on the docks. Parking was by the side of the road - it indicated permits were required but we were told (at least for the day we were there), it was okay to park in those spots. Otherwise, we were told park along the side of the road anywhere where it's clear. We picked a good time of day and year - not too hot and not too cold. In addition to the on-line deposit, payment of the pending seemed to be preferred by Venmo, however, I had cash. Enjoy a fun paddle!

Me and my husband took our nephew and 9 year old granddaughter kayaking last summer. We had a blast. Suzie is great, planning another trip for this weekend.

Fun day! Easy service and interesting to poke around the Delta by kayak. Note that the area for kayaking is somewhat limited but perfect for 1-3 hours.

We were traveling from Sacramento to LA and wanted to get the kids out of the car for a fun break. This is only about 15 minutes from the I-5. When we arrived the owners were extremely nice and did a great job getting us out on the water. Reasonable prices and a fun area to explore. Will definitely plan on coming back next time we're in the area.

What a great experience. My friend and I were greeted by the two friendly gals running the rentals. I initialed and signed the liability waiver, paid for the estimated time we were planning to be out ($20/hour for a tandem kayak), given life jackets and paddles and we were off. Not knowing the area one of the gals suggested we head down a small, quiet slough and hug the shoreline to avoid the power boats. My friend brought her binoculars and we saw many species of birds including Kingfishers, Herons, and Sparrows. We notice so many blackberry bushes along the shore and picked several pounds in the span of about an hour. Our tandem kayak was a Perception brand and very stable and tracked well in the water. Would like to come back and do a guided tour with one of the gals. Overall, it was a very enjoyable day and great way to get out on the water without bringing your own kayak.

Five stars for the boat and the rental experience. The kayak was modern, stable and a joy to paddle. But one less star for location. Once you're done with the quiet paddle through the boat slips, you're out facing the horsepower and audio systems of powerboats who view you as a nuisance.

This a great place for beginners. We took our family and 4 kids ages 8, 12, 14, 18. They had a great time. Good workout and beautiful serene scenes. A lot of cool birds. Check in was easy and the two hours we rented was plenty. Thanks for the great time.

We rented 3 singles from Tracy today (Sunday, May 13, Mother's Day). My wife, son and I really enjoyed the kayaking, even with some wind to deal with from time to time. We saw lots of wildlife including all kinds of birds - numerous great blue heron and egrets and even a river otter. Tracy was very friendly and helpful with advice on where to go. The equipment was all in great shape - the kayaks, life vests, paddles. We can highly recommend both Kokopelli Kayak Rentals as well as the Delta for some enjoyable kayaking and cafe/food exploring as well along the shoreline.
