This has been my son's favorite place to buy shoes from when he was in high school. And now my daughter's favorite store since she was in Junior High. We come here before school starts each year to get a pair. Yesterday, we lucked out when she was able to find a pair of Janowski on sale plus another colorful Nike pair, which we received 20% discount on. Wesley helped us and this kid has awesome customer service skills. I'd know, I have been an HR Manager for 12 years and always on the lookout for people who exemplify "rock star" quality employee. Wesley was very friendly but not annoying. He was patient with my daughter who asked to try at least six pairs of shoes. He was also knowledgeable and definitely knew a lot about the products in the store. I am a firm believer of people in retail who takes the time to know what they are selling. Kingpin is located on E. Benjamin Holt and off of Pacific Avenue behind the Casino and CVS. I feel like this store is a gem tucked in a not too desirable location. You'd have to be a local Stocktonian to know where it is. The store is clean but can definitely be improved. It needs a nice area where parents can sit down and wait. Perhaps even a vending machine for drinks and snacks. Anyway, please give this place a try. Check it out! You don't have to be a skateboarder to find something from here. They sell hats, shirts and shoes that are not found in the regular mall. We're repeat customers, so keep up the good work.

Ray and Kingpin skate shop are the bomb. They have a great selection of boards-all the best brands with plenty of cool graphics and shapes to choose from. They have it all from bearings to beanies. I go there because the price is right and Ray is a good and knowledgeable guy.

If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. After reading a few of these reviews I can only assume it was the owner my fiance and I dealt with. We showed up ready to buy, and he was rude right off the bat. He kept cutting off whatever questions we had and kept saying he didn't have what we were looking for before ever allowing us to finish a sentence. If this wasn't the owner we dealt with I strongly advise you speak to your staff because this was a distasteful experience. If you're looking for a decent skate board and care about being talked to like customer, I'd honestly advise any place but this one. I've never received that type of attitude from anyone in retail or anyone decent in general. 20 mins before coming into this location I went to Slip and will likely be going back there. The gentleman there was professional, honest, and even offered to order something at least close to what we were looking for. At king pin, this guy wanted absolutely nothing to do with our money. Bad business. & all around dumb. Speaking to a customer respectfully, especially when they're ready spend money with you of all places is basic. You can do better.

Great skate shop experience. Prices seemed a little higher than normal but are completely worth it. The guy was super helpful helping me pick out what I need and even saved me a little money pointing out what I don't actually need. Great selection also.

Idiots charged me fucking 150$ for a deck and trucks the trucks loosen up after almost every sesh, shit quality, horrible prices , fk these scammers

This place RULES!!! I finally don't have to drive all the way to Roseville to find Black Label skateboards! Went in there for just a deck and some grip tape but I ended up leaving with two or three shirts and a pair of shoes and the person who owns it rides a skateboard and has for many years!

Bought 3 pairs of shoes and a board. Quick quality service, friendly owner. Will return and have recommended shop to friends and family.

The guy was trying to sell us a baker board for almost 200 when they worth like 90 for a board although the store is great shoes are great boards are great it's just that prices suck there

Went in ready to buy a board with my 11 year old som. Explained I wanted a thinner board for because was getting back into skating (it was actually a surprise for my son). The dude Ray was just a dick, there's no other way to put it. He's one of these nerdy skater dudes that hates on people that don't know everything about skateboarding and calls them poseurs. Pricey too . I like to buy local but avoid this place.
