Bravo to the buyer for the general store. This is a thru-hiker paradise. If I'm backpacking in the area, I won't even bother to buy food near home, I'll just do it here. As they have better options than the Vons in Mammoth. Not to mention all the individually sold items that you usually have to buy an entire box of when you only needed 3 or 4 of them (etc... ziplock bags). If you need it, you're probably going to find it.Friendly staff, showers, cabins, amazing restaurant food and a bar that makes killer Bloody Mary's. It's also a very pretty hike down to the resort, so there is no reason to skip this stop.

Another year, another LOVELY stay. We always have such a great time here. When I was married living in Sonora, we'd take the kids once a year for several years. My daughter decided to get married here last year bc of the fond memories. It's such a magical place. No frills, no cell reception and plenty of nature!! They have a restaurant, a store, and a bar. The night sky is the most remarkable!! Magic...that's the only way to describe it. The Pacific coast trail for hikers goes right through here, and they have some special accommodations for people on the hike. It's a pack station so you can also horseback rides into the wilderness or go hiking all day or fishing. Last time we stayed we went fishing and caught six or seven fish. I really can't say enough good things about this place.

I don't see a section to review the horseback riding out of the Pack station. My wife and I took an absolutely fabulous half day ride up to relief reservoir. The horses are amazingly well cared for and our guide Sarah was phenomenal. The scenery was beautiful. We even picked up a little hail and rain, but that didn't damper our spirits had a wonderful time highly recommended.

DISCONNECT FROM THE WORLD!!! What an amazing place! We have gone up every year for some years now to our buddies cabin and we enjoy every moment of it!!! We would even camp there or rent out the cabins if we needed to. No cell service! Nothing but nature! Fishing! Swimming! Hiking! You name it! Great times! Great little bar! Perfect general store! Haven't eaten at the restaurant but it smells good. I would suggest to buy any hunting license before hand, we have gone up and the system was down. Just be prepared to disconnect from the world. What an amazing feeling.

Almost there but we got caught out in a hail storm on a trail ride and trail boss pulled out a rain coat and left us in our T-shirt's. An older gentleman came up from the rear to lead us into a tree line. My 5 year horse got spiked and we almost had a episode. They could better training the young trail leads.

This review is for the half day horseback ride. My sister and I went up to Kennedy to do the half day trail ride up to relief reservoir, it was an absolutely beautiful ride. Our guide was Sarah. She's an awesome guide. She was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our day with her. in my opinion, if you're a first time rider, I would try the hour ride out first and work your way up to the half day. But that's just my opinion there is some steep areas that might be nerve-racking for a person with fears of heights. But my sister and I had an amazing time. Thank you so much Kennedy Meadows, and Sarah we will be back. Theo and Popeye were such sweethearts.

I have been going here every summer for the last 24 years. It is heaven on earth and my favorite place to visit. Everyone is super nice. I love the rustic cabins and how there is limited internet to get away from everyday life. The views are breathtaking. Any bad reviews made previously are absolutely wrong. We love the owners and everyone else that works there. Kennedy Meadows is the best!

We stayed here one night in August, 2019 as lodging is very limited near Sonora Pass. We planned to backpack from Kennedy Meadows so this was our starting point. We knew the cabin was old but did not realize just how old and awful it was as we had not seen any photos of the interior on line. Having stayed here, we wanted to let others know what they are in for. It appears the old cabins have never been upgraded. The windows are held open by 2x4 pieces of wood with super old curtains. The place is dark and dreary. There are no lamps and no comfortable places to sit, unless you like hardback kitchen chairs. The sponge was disgusting. The coffee pot is only useful for boiling water. The kitchen floor slopes down. There are mismatched plastic chairs on the front porch. No couch, just beds. It is one of the most uninviting cabins we have ever stayed in. It would have been preferable to camp. They are not cheap either, despite the run down condition. If you are staying here, ask for one of the cabins with a tin roof. These were re built after they had a fire several years ago. Ours was an original!About the only saving grace is the restaurant. The food is okay and the prices are reasonable. It is also a pleasant place to sit (unlike the cabin).

The owner, Matt and Joan in the office were rude and difficult to deal or reason with. She spoke to me like a 5 year old because I wanted to postpone our trip due to wildfires in the area. Not only would they not allow me to reschedule our trip, but they will not refund my deposit. All the National Forests in California have been closed due to high fire danger and these people won't let us reschedule or give us a refund because they are saying they are on private property. Well guess what? If you want to stay in business during fire season you had better get with the program and learn a little bit about customer service, not to mention common sense and humanity. I hope this place gets torched.
