I have nothing but positive things to say about Kat Murillo Photography! My husband and I hired her in 2019 for our wedding we were originally planning in 2020. Due to Covid-19, our original wedding date was postponed, and Kat helped us seamlessly transition our contract and deposit to our new wedding date. Kat's attention to detail was every Bride's dream come true!! Kat was an absolute Rockstar when it came to discussing our wedding day timeline, shot list and various details we wanted photographed. You could tell that she cared about all the planning that goes into coordinating her couple's special day. Kat was a joy to have photograph our wedding day. She showed up early to make sure everything was ready to photograph our detail shots, kept us on time throughout the day and captured everything we had discussed. Fast forward two and a half years later and we are overwhelmed with joy looking at our wedding gallery. We have received countless compliments and look forward to working with her again in the future! To say that we are happy to have hired Kat as our wedding photographer is an understatement!

Katherine met up with me to discuss her wedding package a while back and she made everything so easy. She has very reasonable prices and personalized packages (you can pretty much make it your own if need be). Also for this who are in LE/Military she does honor a 10% discount so I love how supportive she is with that.We got an engagement shoot out of the wedding package we chose and we got to see her true form. She made it so easy considering any photo shoot can almost end up turning into prom style look (which DID NOT FEEL/END THAT WAY THANK GOODNESS.) We want to Muir Overlook, as were the original plan was the beach did not go as plan. Thank you California weather. She made us laugh at her crazy stories that helped the look for my favorite pictures. We got a plentiful amount of pictures that took my breath away. I'm so excited for my wedding and what she will capture. I will always recommend her to everyone.

Kathrine was our photographer for our wedding on Sept 1, 2018. Kat was a pleasure to work with!! We have a massive family and wanted pictures with many different arrangements and she was very organized and efficient to make this happen. We just got our gallery and OH MY!! We are in love with the photos! Our wedding was the best day of our lives and Kat truly captured the joy and beauty of the day! Not to mention her use of light in our sunset photos - LOVE!

Kat is an absolute professional and makes you feel at ease from start to finish! She is so friendly and she got great pictures of our dog Highway with my daughter. Trust me that was no easy task! She is such a sweet person too. I would highly recommend her.

I loved her work. She communicated well with my daughter and I. Everything went without the hits and each image was amazing. She loves what she does and it shows. Highly recommend Kat!

Kathrine took our family portraits and did a fantastic job. She made all of us feel comfortable and not awkward at all as taking photos sometimes can be. She was great with my kids and getting them to smile, even our teenager. She was fast getting the photos to us and the photos came out amazing. I love the lighting she uses for her photos. We were very satisfied with Kathrine and the photos we received.

My husband and I used Kat for our wedding this past year and were left feeling extremely disappointed with the level of service we received during such a special time. Our engagement was about a year and a half, and during the first couple of months, Kat was responsive and answered all of our questions in a timely fashion. However, after those first couple of months, it became increasingly difficult to get a hold of her. At one point we thought we had been scammed because we stopped receiving responses for 2-3 months. Eventually, we reached out via Instagram messenger since these messages show a read receipt when viewed. She responded and was apologetic and mentioned she had been going through a tough time personally. Understandable of course. However, in the midst of planning your wedding, the thought of your photographer being MIA and unreachable is insufferable and unprofessional.On the wedding day, Kat arrived with an assistant- both were very nice and did a good job overall of capturing all the photos we wanted! She was friendly and made us feel comfortable, especially given that this was our first time meeting her face-to-face. Post-wedding, we were promised a blog post and a sneak peek of our photos. There was never a blog post. The 'sneak peek' was a 10-second Instagram Reel, not a handful of photos emailed to us as we had hoped.Our wedding was in the middle of June, and we had to practically beg her to give us updates on when we could expect the photos. On August 8th Kat told us "My goal is to have the photos delivered to you in the next 10 days". 10 days later, she responded, "Blog post tomorrow". At the time of writing this review, it is mid-December, and we have yet to receive a blog post, which at this point is irrelevant.The following months weren't much better, we reached out to Kat countless times for updates. When we were lucky enough to receive a response, the responses consisted of excuses, delays, and major health scares (car accidents, fractured ribs, refractured ribs). Again, if the health scares or emergencies happened, that is out of anyone's control and incredibly unfortunate - so we were very sympathetic to all of her stated explanations. She ended up responding that due to the delays, she is having another 'trusted' photographer assist in the editing of our photos... We hired Kat due to her photographic style, and when she made this decision without consulting us, we were surprised.We didn't receive all of our images until the end of October. Over 17 weeks after our wedding, nearly 5 months. This amount of time was unprofessional, insufferable, and incredibly worrisome, thinking something happened to our photos.Once reviewing the final photos, we were very pleased with the quality and number of photos received. The photos were beautiful. However, I wish I could recommend Kat, but I need to express caution and warn future couples about the level of service we received.

My cousin got married 5/21/22 and have yet to receive her pictures. Was promised the pictures within 6-8 weeks and now she is not responding to their messages. She was paid in full and ran off with their money.

I have left messages, texted, called, with no response from KCM. Very disappointed, because I used this photographer 4 years ago and the service has declined. Good business people should respond to customers seeking their services.

If you are looking for a family photographer that is patient, creative, good-natured, engaging, and most of all talented, Kat is your girl.Between the span of January 2018 and February 2019, we have had 4 sessions with Kat to document life events - those being a maternity shoot, a newborn shoot, fall family portraits, and my son's 1st birthday. Each time, we are completely blown away by the images that are returned to us. For my maternity photos in particular, I am being honest when I say I did not feel like one of those 'cute' pregnant people. I was more of the uncomfortable all the time/awkward pregnant people. You would absolutely not know it in looking at our pictures. To date, they are now my favorite pictures I have of myself, ever. This was our first interactions with Kat as our photographer, and we were immediately made to feel comfortable. She is just that friendly and real. Backing it up even more, prior to our shoot, Kat was always available for any of our questions, including running our outfit choices past, to make sure that we are wearing an outfit that will coordinate well together, as well as with the theme. In addition, she has no problem rescheduling if the weather doesn't look like it's going to work out. I can't even quantify the number of compliments I got on these maternity photos. When our son was born - she made herself available to complete his newborn photos a mere 2 days after he came home from the hospital. She showed up to our house completely ready with everything needed. She is incredibly patient and gave us tips on making sure this tiny human we were trying to get to know was at his best for his debut pictures. He even peed on her backdrop, which I am still totally embarrassed about, but it was quite funny and she took it totally in stride. We ended up buying every single shot from our newborn photo shoot. There was not one image that we could have went without. Looking back a year and a half later, I still feel exactly the same. These are pictures we are going to truly treasure forever. In the fall, we did a short mini session with Kat. I was so excited to participate in one of these offerings of hers. Basically, you get a 20-minute chunk of time (a mini session) back to back with other sessions, all at the same location. Even though it's a short session length, we never felt rushed at all. We got quite a few images that we loved from this session - and it was so much fun! Lastly, we did a shoot for our son's 1st birthday. This is where I have to say Kat shined even more than normal on everything I have mentioned above. 1-year olds are not cooperative. Ours in particular, was grouchy the entire day. Kat is absolutely determined to get the shot, and her perseverance is the sole reason we got back some incredible shots of our grumpy boy. When she learned he loved Baby Shark, she immediately started singing it and dancing around to get a smile out of him. She was consistently playing with him to make him comfortable and happy, which we SO appreciated. In the weeks following the shoot - I become a stalker of her FB and IG pages. She will often post teasers of her recent shoots there and I LOVE when I get to see a sneak peek of our images. Once she is done with all of her editing/magic, she will set up some time to meet with you to go over all of your images, and this is where you can pick what you want printed. I truly love her style of picture taking. I always get back images that highlight the people, but also the great scenery we are in. They look absolutely fantastic on our walls, and we are so grateful to have found her!
