J & H Marine

If you are in the Stockton to Rio Vista region, J and H Marine should be considered for their honest, dedicated and detailed repair work. I had an impeller repair on a Kohler generator, that was in a tight compartment area. The repair was extremely timely and cost reasonable for the work completed.Depending on the work needed there are also associated companies in the same location of Delta Marine that have all been my go to for any repairs or maintenance needed.

I didn't get anything done. Just thought the phone conversation I had with them went really well. The chat allowed me to feel trust and comfort with the business, and my initial thought was to bring my boat in for service and diagnosis. I didn't get her name, but the representative was very helpful. I didn't need to bring the boat in after all, but definitely keeping them in mind for future maintenance needs. I appreciate this business' honesty.

I was starting a new business to promote disabled Veterans and Veterans to learn the Marine trade. Eric was nice enough to allow us to place a boat in his lot to get it all blinged out. Even though it took almost three weeks Eric was supportive of our efforts. I encourage everyone to choose J&H Marine for their high quality work and for supporting Veterans. Called to possibly get in and have our Ski boat worked on. The lady said they were booked till January, so we specifically asked how we get in and she told us to call back mid January! Not good customer service as we are already booking with another company, Lodi Marine, also have to wait a few weeks, but I'm gonna say it'll be worth the wait.

After a disappointing experience with another Marine parts supplier I called J&H Marine for help with some problems with my late model cruiser. I am not easily impressed, but the owner Eric, and his team Fred and Nate (and the rest of the guys), absolutely went up and beyond to not only figure out what was wrong, but fix it. Eric gave me invaluable advice and steered me clear of making some expensive mistakes. I know I was a relatively small job for this awesome shop, but they all treated me like I was their most important client! Not only have they earned my trust and business for life, but I made a few new friends in the process! I can not more highly recommend a marine shop than J&H Marine in Stockton! They will take care of you and treat you more than fair.

I took my Parker 2520 to J&H to rebuild the diesel engine that was blown. They figured out the long block needed for the rebuild was no longer made by the manufacturer. I stayed in constant communication with Brent who was coming up with different engine options. We settled on a tier 3 Yanmar LV4 250hp.As the replacement build was taking place, Brent stayed in constant contact with me and gave me daily updates including pictures and videos of what was taking place. Once the build was finished, they cleaned the boat and it was spotless when I picked it up. The day I picked the boat up, it was in the water when I got there. We took it out for a test drive and everything they did was explained in detail. Brent was kind enough to send me the info on what fluids to put in the engine after I left with boat. He even checked up on me later that day when I was out in the boat in another area. This wasn't a cheap project, at least for me, but I would not hesitate to take my boat back to J&H. Hi.I had to take my boat into J&H Marine in Stockton. I had an ongoing hydraulic fluid leak on my trim pump. They got me into the shop the next morning and I had my boat back within 24 hours. Their service (thank you Brent!!) was, once again, exemplary! I can't imagine taking my boat anywhere else for service. Five stars all the way!Don M.​

I took my 38' Sea Ray Aft Cabin with Mercruiser twin engines to J & H to have four things done: The port engine would not exceed 2800 rpm, The dripless couplings were leaking, there was a leak in the galley refrigerator and the alternator needed replacing.Due to a lack of coordination with the boatyard, the bottom was painted and the boat was put back in the water without the dripless couplings being replaced. This was due to Kelsey, the customer relations person, being out sick. I did talk to the maintenance manager about the couplings, he was clueless. Kelsey is the key person for J & H. If she is not there, do not bother with them. Eventually they did repair and replace the couplings.The alternator was correctly replaced.The leak in the galley was ignored.The port engine problem was not solved, although they say they are Mercruiser experts. When I left the boatyard, it ran at over 2800 rpm until just before I reached King Island for fuel. Then the port engine would not exceed 2800 rpm. I limped back to San Rafael, where several mechanics looked at the problem. One of them referred me to H & M Marine in Sausalito. They immediately diagnosed the problem as lack of compression in several cylinders, on the port engine, something that J & H did not test for.If you have gas powered engines, I cannot recommend J & H. I don't write many reviews but I had to in this case as Eric, Kelsy, and the entire J&H team are truly rockstars. We have been taking our Formula 370ss to them for about 2 years and they have been nothing less than stellar in their service and follow through. They recently retrofitted the boat with a Dometic Optimus 360 Joy Stick and Sea Station as well as new Simrad electronics and we couldn't be happier with the results. J&H is really a one stop provider for everything your boat needs and they have strategic partners for all non mechanical/electronic work as well. Love this place! I had scheduled some upholstery work next door and popped into J&H with no appointment to see if they could do some work on my 30' Chaparral while it was at the docks (trim pump, oil change and what turned out to be an exhaust elbow leak). Even with no appointment, they got the job done within a week (while boat was still having canvas work next door) with reasonable rates and thorough work. Strong rec.
