Inn at Parkside

This was an absolute gem. My husband was completely surprised by the room the location. I was able to make our 730 dinner reservations and come in and do remote check in and out. The room was lovely clean staff that we did see. On our way out. We're very friendly would highly recommend staying here. The room had wine glasses of wine opener, coffee, tea, honey, sugar, cream, a refrigerator. We did not use all of the amenities there was even Epson salt to soak in the tub.

Let's start by saying the rooms at this place are fairly clean. I think that is the only upside to this review. Now for the not so happy things.... Please do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews written for this establishment. I should have taken the hint when they were harassing us to commit to a massage before arriving to the B&B. You are allowed to book a massage within 24 hours but are unable to cancel in within 24 hours. They will take your money completely. If anything does NOT go in favor of the owner, they are taking your money. If you even sneeze wrong, they are taking your money. The place is completely creepy, as other reviewers mentioned. I was standing outside of the building and I felt someone watching me. To my surprise, the grounds keeper is peering out of the window and moves just as I look up (Yes, just like the scary movies). There are also cameras watching your every move. It's almost as if you are never alone. I wouldn't be surprised if there were hidden cameras in the room. Lol The neighborhood is also very sketchy at night. I absolutely advise you NOT to go to your car late night for anything. It's too dangerous. There is NO designated parking area so if you get stuck parking around the corner, don't bother going to your car at night. The breakfast is only one breakfast option. Whatever the "chef" makes, your eat it. If you don't eat meat, you most likely won't be eating here. The courtyard is just blah also. There is no room to walk. It's dirty and not kept up...The fountains aren't working. Just a typical city side yard to get fresh air. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND, unless there is absolutely nothing available and you are so tired and can't drive any longer, I still wouldn't recommend. Just sleep in your car at that point.

This place is excellent. My girlfriend and I booked the serenity suite spa. We were able to completely relax and reconnect. The staff are very kind and helpful. The room is very comfortable and enjoyable. We added breakfast to our stay which was well worth it. We highly recommend and look forward to our next stay! Thank you for such a memorable experience!

Beyond what I expected. A perfect place for a couples hideaway. The serenity suit is BEAUTIFUL. Talk about romantic!!!! Had a small mishap and it was IMMEDIATELY taken care of by the owner himself. I was well taken care of and compensated. The staff is sooo kind and helpful. They have contactless check in which I thought would be difficult but it ended up being easy ! It is a bit pricey but well worth it for the care and professionalism. The standards they hold are extremely high, probably one of the top 10 cleanest rooms I've stayed in. The serenity suit would be the perfect surprise for anniversaries or birthdays or just because!!! I can't wait to come back and give the harmony suit a try! Hopefully the spa will be open by then ! Would just make an already great experience even better!!!

I would recommend anyone to experience this place at least once. This bed and breakfast is well worth it. Breakfast was amazingly delicious. We left so happy knowing we found a rare gem in Sacramento. Will book again.

I'm due for a return visit. This location really is a perfect little staycation oasis. You just don't understand until you go, so go!

Parkside is a beautiful place, no doubt. But the service is a zero. It's been a bit since the pandemic but they haven't opened any of the spa or breakfast service. Because the service is so benign that's why I give it two stars.One visit we made a reservation, got to our room and the back door would not lock and the spa bathtub didn't even work! How do you put someone in a room with conditions like that? I was embarrassed for the manager and again, bad service.For the price of those rooms...you should be getting at least four star service. Now I've changed my mind, I'm giving it a one star.

We stayed in the Dream room for our anniversary. It was a very modern romantic room and we fully enjoyed it.

Had a staycation here after we saw pictures of the rooms. The room we wanted was the Happiness and it was more charming in person than in the pictures. The room was worth it for the bathtub alone.

Fantastic property. The old mansion has a lot of charm. I will definitely stay again. The manager was extremely nice and helpful.
