I wanted to update my review. My son just finished his program at Huntington. I cannot recommend them enough! He went from significantly below grade level at the beginning of last school year to starting out his second grade year above grade level in both math and reading. His confidence has soared and he has become our little bookworm! He enjoys going to school now and homework is a breeze. This program is well worth the money! He now has a solid foundation in reading and math.

The Lodi location is where my husband and I took our 10-year-old for tutoring. She liked the teachers and felt like she was learning. However before the Christmas vacation recently, she had asked for some water and an employee by the name of Sherri decided to offer her a cup and water from the bathroom sink twice!!!! She never told my husband or me about my daughter needing water, my daughter would take water sometimes, and sometimes she wouldn't. So I had no idea this had taken place. About a week ago, my daughter was eating crackers in the car and we were approaching the learning center. I told my daughter when she goes inside, ask for someone. She stated to me that they don't have regular water but they have cups and you can get water from the sink. I replied WHAT??!!! What do you mean you can get water from the sink? Then I asked her, so you mean to tell me, you went in there and asked for water and someone stated you can grab a cup and get water from the sink, and she said yes, the bathroom sink! I almost lost my whole mind. My daughter stated that Miss Sherri OFFERED her a cup and water from the BATHROOM sink! When I got to the tutoring center, I asked Sherri if she could come to me and we discussed it. She didn't deny it, she made excuses, she lied and stated she drinks the water, and that other children that come to the establishment drink the water! I asked from the bathroom sink?!? And she gave me a quiet look like; well no... My daughter told me that Sherri brings water to work when she's there. She had a very nonchalant attitude. Like it wasn't a big deal! This began to make sense to me so much because during Christmas my daughter was sick, she got pink eye in both eyes, she was constipated, and she was getting bumps I had never seen. 1 on her top lip, underneath her lip, stomach pains. diarrhea, headaches, and loss of appetite. I did call the doctor but excuses were made when I asked why is she sick, no one else in the home is sick and she had just gotten over RSV. I was told children get sick multiple times, especially in places like schools enclosed with a lot of bacteria sprayed around by different people. So this whole time I thought it was the school because school ended the same week she drank the water. But my daughter takes bottled purified water to school in her canister every day!My husband and I immediately removed her from the tutoring program and I called the owner Matt Winslow and addressed this with him. He was very understanding and sympathetic to my family. Even though we appreciated his compassion, we can't get over how disturbing this experience was. This grown woman thought it was okay to offer my daughter sink water from the bathroom where people utilize it to remove waste and wash their hands! Lied to me and said she drinks the water and so do other students, and then told me that Lodi has really clean water! A tough lesson was learned for my family, just because we pay money to an establishment for services doesn't mean we will be treated with dignity and respect. We can't expect people to be decent and look out for the best interest of our children. We will never return!

I think the original reviewer with a 1-star review is reviewing the wrong place. That's the opposite of the experience we have had.The staff is beyond phenomenal, and at every turn they are identifying areas where Anie (our daughter) could improve upon, even advance a grade or two on, and giving us options where we can build her skill-set. Huntington in Lodi has actually turned our home experience around with Anie. She's homeschooled, but we just didn't feel like we were being aggressive enough with her adherence to state standards, But Andi and team go beyond that. They are interacting with her one on one - and the result? Simply put. Anie has grown more in two weeks of attendance there in her knowledge than she has in the past year. We're simply blown away by the progress. If it's important for you & your child to get good grades, to ensure they aren't falling behind - or in our case, making sure they are always one leap ahead, I couldn't imagine sending Anie anywhere else. There just simply isn't any competition for this level of commitment that Huntington Lodi demonstrates.5-Stars isn't enough. I wish Yelp went up to 2,500 stars. They'd get them all from us.

Excellent staff, friendly and accomodating. My son has attended for subject tutoring and ACT prep. He has worked with several teachers and with their help he was able to understand, learn and bring his grades up. It has definitely been worth the cost.

I had a good meeting with the director, which led me to believe my daughter was in good hands with tutoring and this financial investment, but I was very disappointed in the work that was given to my child during her month there. My daughter was going to the 4th grade and I asked specifically if her work can be tailored to multiplication, with repetition. When my daughter would come home, she said the tutors focused on mostly addition and subtraction with little multiplication toward the end of the hour she was there. All in all, although it was only a month, there was no improvement or recommendation/feedback for next steps in her learning and it came with a hefty price. We didn't even get a summary at the end of her sessions once her month was up. Nothing to show at home what she actually did. I thought this would be a place we'd take her back to, but unfortunately we will be looking elsewhere.

Huntington Learning Center has been a godsend for my kiddos. They both have improved their skills with tutoring through Huntington Center. Sheri has been wonderful to work with. I highly recommend checking them out.

Complete waste of extremely valuable time!!!My daughter spent several hours at this center watching you tube tutorial video with her "tutor". The ONLY tutoring tool used was you tube videos which is what my daughter did at home studying on her own.Every minute of every hour spent in this center was may daughter searching and watching you tube tutors in a cubical with her "tutor" sitting with her. He had zero interest in being there.I hired a REAL tutor who came into my home for several hours of cramming in the studying just in time for the finals!NEVER AGAIN!!!!
