Hunan Villa Restaurant

Simple spot, but worth visiting.Service was friendly, food was made fresh and it was served hot. It the food reminded me a lot of what we ate when visiting hubby's grandmother in SF, except way friendlier service. If you've eaten at an authentic Chinese restaurant in the city you know what I'm taking about, lol.Liked that they offered tables and booths, it was clean and gave us complimentary sweet and sour soup.

Today was my first time trying Hunan and I was pleasantly surprised! I looked up some pictures, the food looked good and the portions looked plenty. I couldn't find a recent menu online so I went in to order. The inside was clean and had nice seating. I ordered the Mongolian chicken combination because I was in the mood for something with a little kick. The hostess was very polite and the food was served in a timely manner. Everything tasted hot and fresh. The meal came with Mongolian chicken, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, egg flower soup, a cream cheese wonton, and an egg roll all for under $13! The takeout container was filled to the top with food. There was enough that I was able to give some to a few of my coworkers and still took a lot home. I will definitely be eating here more regularly.

Lot of food for a great price, food was quality & fresh! Customer service very sweet, combinations plate even came with soup of the day & 1 egg roll & 1 cheese Rangoon if you dine in. Worth the price for plenty of flavor. Very quiet & peaceful inside while being very clean.

Yum! Flavor is good. Prices aren't too bad. Portion size is good. This place promotes no MSG. The flavor is flavorful! The menu options are pretty straight forward. Not sure if this place has opened back up to the public for dine in. Would come here again. Parking is plentiful and it is in a shopping plaza with Dutch Bros and 2 markets.

I ordered chicken and mixed vegetables with beef rice fried. As for the rice it was fresh hot and had a good amount of tasty beef. As far as the chicken with vegetables, the chicken is the first part of the name I ordered, it should have been the star but there was way more vegetables than chicken. The vegetables were not cooked all the way. They were too hard not only that the vegetables and chicken were lukewarm. I don't understand it. It was supposed to be made fresh. My wife's plate was the same way with beef. And vegetables. Horace with beef was very, very hot and fresh. But the other with the beef and vegetables. It was lukewarm and the taste was not there like normal. I don't know what's going on. Maybe they have a new cook, but I'll tell you. It was not worth $35. Oh yeah, so she brought us a plate of. Pop stickers as a side plate we ordered. They looked freezer burnt and they were raw on one side. And cooked, on the other side they definitely were not deep fried, nasty on top of that their crab Filled ragun was fishy and nasty and so was the Spring roll. It was pretty gross tookay. I said I never had any problems with this place to me. It was always way more food for your buck. Tasted wonderful and fresh, as can be today's experience. I don't know if I'll be going back. Especially if it's just from a new cook.We both really wanted to ask for our money back. That's how bad it was. I think we took 3 bites total each and got a box though for both of our dinners. So as I read on with other peoples reviews, I agree, and they agree that the Ragoons suck nasty and the Pop stickers are not cooked all the way and taste freezer born nasty. I asked her if they were frozen and she said that they cooked them.And then they put them in the freezer to cook them again.That's nahey owner.If you read this I think we deserve our money back.Just let me know when I can come back and get it.

the food was so good. I'd recommend this to a friend any day. They only do carry out and cash.

We love Hunan Villa. The food is delicious! I was talking to my grandson today and he said I'm gonna come over to Oakdale so I can eat at Hunan Villa. He said I'm craving it. He lives in the Bay Area anyway it is loved by our family. We've been going there for years. The little kids I used to take in there have kids of their own now. We've watched their children grow up. Also this is a well established restaurant and they make the best Chinese in town.

Best Chinese food in town! Try the honey walnut shrimp. The Mongolian beef is also out of this world.

I had to come change my review to a 5 star. Mainly because of how awful the other oakdale/modesto/riverbank Chinese food options have become. Hunan Villa has stayed so consistently above average in every single category that it deserves the praise and should remain. The family works so hard to provide great freshness, taste, and portions to a community that I've personally heard say very rude things to them at times.

Fresh ingredients. Good food. Large portions and a great price. This is the best Chinese in Oakdale in my opinion.
