Horseshoe Road Recreation Area

I love this place the view is great and the river is right by its the perfect place for a family outing and is very relaxing as a person who lives close its nice to go. Recommended

I should probably have gone swimming at Knight's Ferry Covered Bridge but I didn't.. And I was so hot and bummed out about that! So I swerved left and parked the car when I saw the sign for another recreation area. Then jumped out of the car, and in the water! It was probably pretty funny to watch: first I got in, and only then did I start shedding clothing. Easy access to carry a couple of chairs over the water. Some people around, who were so, so friendly! Someone gave us advice about where to sit. Another person wanted to swim across the river with me. I had a ball. Not sure if there's any facilities. There are certainly no lifeguards. There are signs that advise wearing lifejackets for safety. I think that's probably a great idea for children or those who are not strong swimmers. This river is mellow enough, but it's nothing to laugh at... All in all: This was a great place to spend an hour or so. Glad to have found it!
